I did not post any PR.  It was answers to the simplistic questions that you asked.

I know no more about the collective than what is in the announcement and on the website, other that finding out that the Board members are not being paid.  My source for that are the members that I know.

Save your breath. Focus on those that want to be part of the solutions. There are plenty of people ready to poke holes in those of us that want  to try to Move these sports forward.

no collective = Buffalo sucks and they are falling behind. Also make sure to attack the admin for doing nothing to advance NIL even though they are independent entities

collective setup = attack those volunteers willing to administer it, also attack the administration for having undue influence. Also, make sure you bitch about who gets or doesn’t get money from said collective

    No way he returns.

I would agree, but would be shocked if he went to a Wake Forest level team.

    Still time.

Some coaches don’t like messing with the roster in certain positions until after the spring game. These kids put in a lot of hard work for 15 practices and the staff doesn’t like messing with that bonding and prep. You assess the performance and then fill in the gaps, bring in what you need.

Agree with PF being biggest need as of now. Tons of players still available in transfer portal so hopefully can land a nice big with experience.

The other day I heard 1200 in the portal. There has to be one 😂

Ogbanna first QB here at B&W game

    Gray also starting drives.

Meh start shorts passes, option, 2 bad deep balls, CJ fumble on handoff

    Not a ringing endorsement

Addition by subtraction. Fulcher was one of the worst shooters I’ve seen for a PG and really wasn’t a good passer or defender. Opens up another spot to fill for a need. Correct me if I’m wrong so now the only returners from last year are Sabol, Boldin, Wilson and McVeigh?

I believe that is accurate. I also think it’s by design. Fulcher was a late add last year and staff was probably hoping for the best, but in my opinion, his departure doesn’t bother me, especially if a solid PF can be found.

Yes.  I gave on UB Giving Day last year and last week (to men's basketball and every other team) and to the collective its on opening day at the Hall of Fame level, on a monthly basis, to increase the amount over a one time payment for that level.

Look at the website, it for all sports.

You were going to try to set up a collective and I believe were going to donate to it.  You asked me for money and I said I would donate if you set one up, without any questions as to what the 990 would show.  The first 990 will not have to be filed until possibly as late as September of 2025.  That will mean your money, if you ever donate will not be available for NIL purposes until almost all of the recruiting for freshmen and transfers for the fall of 2026 is done.  For someone who wanted to set up a collective, your wallet appears to be very very tight.

People are either part of the solution or part of the problem.  They are either working for the goal or against it. I will let others figure out what side you are on.

I have known two of the five board members for years.  They are in it because they bleed blue and white and not for any glory or money.  They and I want UB Athletics to succeed and we have all stepped up to the plate.

You have to trust people sometimes.  So step up and donate or stop complaining that there is no NIL money or money for the programs to spend on needs to make UB more attractive to freshmen and transfers.

I already gave to every sport and am HOF as well, my point was the NIL isn’t just basketball, it is everything, so if you don’t like the MBB coach to not give at all doesn’t make a lot of sense. Bitching about not having a collective then bitching about the collective 2 days later seems to me that some people just like to bitch. I’m not a Bills fan, but a lot of Bills fans are happier being miserable so that is the local fan base. Even when Oats was here it wasn’t like people were lining the streets in Bulls gear, they are still Bills and Sabers fans first and foremost. It’s only after Oats left people lament the glory days. I’m a Bulls fan, win lose or draw and will support them. If others only want to support in the good times, so be it!

Fulcher in the portal is crazy to me. College sports broken af. Power to the players, all day every day, but wow.

The stats in the thread are interesting definitely but I was selfishly going to use Fulcher this year as a barometer of how this GH3 staff develops players. Fulcher has good speed, showed good drive to the hoop. Turnovers and 3PT shooting were an issue, surely attributing to his bad metrics, but that can be coached, and I wanted to see if it was.

Oh well. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up.

Feel like we desperately need another vet now.

I think he saw his PT going down the tubes and either not wanting to compete or didn’t feel like he could compete. The portal makes it really easy to give up these days.

    Exactly.

until I see the 990 and the distribution, you won’t see a dollar.

would anyone contribute to the team last year? Well, this year, we got the same team but will be on paper worse. If I donate to the NIL, will the money go towards a 4 or 5 that we need and still haven’t landed.

Mbb needs a million to sniff the top 100. I was told when I tried to get others to start one, that we didn’t have the base.

Since it’s MBB, WBB and Football, would you contribute to any?

Here is sampling of some PF/C per Barttorvik.

We have been in touch with Ndur, who is from Canada!

A Canadian ivy 6’8 PF is the perfect fit to this group. Now we just need GH3 to turn into Coach Buttermaker and take this team all the way!

I was wondering if this would happen when commit from Kavon.   Fulcher did not seem to fit with potential emphasis on 3 point shooting.  Now maybe they pick up a little more size.

Nothing again Fulcher, but I’m good with this. Ready for one more PF shooter that can be physical

Some very positive words about this young man. Comments run the gamut from he will red shirt to he could start.  We will see how he and the other four class of 24 players stack up.  November and December will be very informative.  In the meantime, I will be wearing my rose colored glasses.

I’m with you man! keeping the negativity to a minimum until we at least know what this group looks like on the court.

I think you are under estimating some of the Canadians and freshman UB has coming in

I don't think it's taking what UB can get

I would bet that a few of them had other opportunities as well that just weren't publicized

You could very well be right and I am rooting for them either way, because they are UB Bulls now. We drove JW into the ground and it's counterproductive. If GH3 fails, it's sad and not good for anyone, so I want him to do well. Hopefully this group has they types of players, with they type of character GH3 and the staff were looking for to run whatever offensive/defensive system they were hoping to do.

Potentially a red shirt candidate I assume, with dunn and fulcher as main pg's this season

About to have team Canada pretty soon

Staff is going after what they can get with the hand they have. There is currently no compelling reason to come to UB for basketball. At least Buffalo is close to Canada for some of these guys so you take what you can get and hope their game translates to winning in the MAC.

Caleb Offord into the portal. I'm hoping this means he's deeper on the depth chart than he would like, and therefore we have better CBs than last year

I believe that is a correct assessment. Same with the RB in the portal, he was likely #6 or lower

Letting Halcovage piss away the first year of money in an attempt to save his sinking ship is the worst thing that could happen for continued NIL support imo

I’m guessing football will get the bulk of the first moneys in the pot. GH3 was pushing for this day 1, it wasn’t until Lembo arrived that it gained any real traction

He's from Portland and prepping in Canada. I think he would be able to be lured away eventually with NIL FWIW

Let’s hope for the best while he is with us. Portland OR or ME?

  18. 5 minutes ago, MuchMany said:

I think we're all hoping for that. Just trying to think through what we should actually be expecting. The roster is definitely in a healthier place overall than last year.

The year after, we just officially lost Cage's DC recruit, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

It is what it is, could have been a good piece, but if we make improvements, we should be able to attract better talent.

  19. 57 minutes ago, MuchMany said:

Those are fair points. I'm just not seeing, especially for bringing in five new guards/wings, notably improved shooting talent compared to last year.

Let's all hope for some pleasant surprises.

Mighty will be a junior, not senior, for the record. He's a nice, much-needed pickup.

I'm curious where you see this improved shooting coming from. Batchelor replacing Adams could be a slight upgrade, but only because Adams struggled for whatever reason last year. But he had a better pedigree than Batchelor does coming in. Dunn should be an improvement over Fulcher in the minutes he takes. However, the set of wings in Jackson, Akot, and Michaels aren't known as shooters at all. I might go as far as to call them non-shooters to varying degrees.

Long story short, I think shooting and floor spacing is going to be a major challenge again this year.

I think AJ and Sabol will take a step forward it shooting. I think we may have a better inside game than previously and if we have better PG play, that should help as well. I do think Batchelor will be an upgrade. As for the 3 you mentioned, I agree and don't think they will be a shooting threat, but should help on the boards both offensively and defensively. Would be nice to get back to having a few guys that get those garbage points around the rim again. I also think McVeigh can bring a spark if he has the confidence to play like he did towards the end with pure hustle. We will see.

Must have an experienced player who’s proven for this last spot. Grad transfer would make the most sense.

With the current bones of the roster, hopefully it can attract a guy ready for one last ride.
