This must be all his 3-point shots made last year (12) (including repeats):

Looks like he has a pretty nice release. Hopefully he will be productive for us in a number of ways.

A player that allows the staff to move one of sabol or boldin to the bench and let's all the freshman and sophomores to develop more naturally

That would be ideal. I like the 20-22 minute range for 7-8 or 9 guys versus 38-40 minutes from guys that aren't ready to be "the man".

With the commitment from Mighty our roster looks as follows:

Guards:  Dunn, Fulcher, Sabol, Boldin, Akot

Wings:  Wilson, Mcveigh, Michaels, Batchelor, Jackson

    Bigs:  Mighty, Oboh

That gives us the following class breakdown:

    Freshman (4):

    Michaels

    Oboh

    Jackson

    Akot

    Sophmores (4):

    Sabol

    Boldin

    Wilson

    Mcveigh

    Juniors (2):

    Fulcher

    Batchelor

    Seniors (2)

    Dunn

    Mighty

That leaves us 1 scholarship left.

Hard to predict today with 1 spot left to fill but here is my guess at starters for next season as of now:

    PG: Dunn

    SG: Sabol

    SF: Boldin

    PF:  Batchelor

    Center:  Mighty

I would like to see staff fill the last roster spot with a grad transfer who can start immediately and provide some veteran leadership and some scoring ability especially off the dribble.   I really like the direction this team is headed and I am looking forward to next season.  I think this team is much improved from last year and I think this team will be filled with the type of players this coaching staff covets and we will see a clear identity to this team next year.  You heard it here first, their identity will be the ability to shoot the open shot, their effort on the defensive end and their willingness to share the ball.  After last years team this will be a much welcome.  This team is going to surprise some people, especially with their ability to shoot and in my opinion they will be scrappy on the defensive end.  Lets hope the staff can bring in one more solid piece to build on what they have started.  Go Bulls!

I like your optimism and tend to agree with your assessment. A go-to scorer that is ready to go and will make those around him better. We will see if we can get a piece like that.

They don't have to be committed, just in the portal by May 1st.  But with 1200+ ( 3+ available transfers per D1 team) not committed, I suspect some will end up in JUCO or dropping down a level.

Just mind boggling to me there are 1200+ still hanging out there, not to mention JUCOs and HS available. With Duke losing 7 guys already, it's complete chaos.

I am sure you are right,

Here is a summary of the transfer portal based on verbalcommits.com.  These numbers are 'as is' I have not attempted to correct.  I know of at least one gap in vc data - they still show Adams as not committed.

At this point, almost 1/3rd of all transfers have committed.  Of the 1/3rd committed, 6% have decided to return back to their old team.  The MAC has had a total of 66 players enter the portal, with 24% of them committing to date (2 returning to their original school).  I think the deadline is one week from today to file the paperwork to go into the portal.

That has to be scary for those 2/3 that have no place to sit in a week.

Kent retains Davis...good for the MAC to get some of the better players to stay put.

Obviously nobody wanted him for whatever he was looking for. I'm sure it's not because he just loves Kent St. so much he couldn't leave.

    No.

The issue is simply that the admin needs a sport in the MAC to keep their minimum sponsorship requirement.  Wrestling is that sport.  But there is no requirement that you have to give any attention to the sport or make any investment in it.

ADMA and Co are just checking the box and are doing the absolute bare minimum required when it comes to wrestling.  Over the years when resources have had to be pulled from somewhere to support the increased needs for football, sports like wrestling suffered.  The previous staff was telling the admin they were doing less than the minimum required as their neglect was starting to impact the health of the athletes.  That's when a change in staff was made.  Can't have a staff complaining like that.  From the admin's perspective, the staff should have been grateful they even had a program.

It's a smart move from the admin.  Young coaches will overwork themselves and try to push through with promises of future investment that never comes.  They have bought themselves some more years of neglect with a motivated young coach.

Basically, where we are is due to that fact we hired a tunnel visioned AD that has no interest in anything other than Football and he royally screwed that up. Instead of finding someone similar to LL to keep the machine rolling, he bought in hook, line and sinker to a smooth talking snake oil salesman that never really accomplished much in the world of coaching.

He chose not to make an inspiring hire for MBB and lost the Oats momentum. NIL probably played into the decision on the current coaching search, but I'm sure the more experience, veteran guys that were talked to saw thru ADMAs BS and decided it wasn't worth their time to fight that battle.

He lucked up on BB and she is likely overperforming even though the 1st season weas rough at times.

The handling of wrestling is deplorable and I have heard may 1st hand accounts of the ridiculousness they had to tolerate.

The only good things he has done is NOT fire Coach Burke of Women's Soccer since he is doing great and Coach Shepherd for Women's Volleyball is top notch. Even the "Sports Performance Center" is nothing more that a front for more Football allotment. I'm sure other sports can technically use the facility, but probably from the houses of 2-4am.

I was really hoping Missouri would take him, but I don't think that is happening.

I am pretty sure that as a Canadian he cannot get NIL money.  All foreign students, except possibly Canadians, cannot get NIL money because it is work.  They are only allowed in the country as students.

Found this is an article that seems to agree with your assessment:

Despite making up nearly 12.8 per cent of all Division 1 NCAA athletes and 14 per cent of basketball players, foreign student-athletes are mostly unable to profit from NIL. That includes Canadians, who represent far and away the most NCAA athletes from any country outside the United States.

Losing a coach to an A10 school would suck

I saw an interview with Josh schertz and he spoke about how all of the Indiana St fans wanted him fired after the first season

So I looked a bit into his first season Indiana St dropped from a team ranked near 100 to a team ranked 230 in his first season

Didn't drop as far as GH3 and he also recruited really well but some similarities are there

If you change styles and have the wrong personnel playing, that’s what happens. When LL got here, there were many questioning if that was a good hire or not. Turned out well. We all thought (myself included), would pickup the ball along with better recruits (which in many cases he did) and lead us forward. Unfortunately you need to coach AND recruit. I think Lembo will do well this season because I think he and his staff can coach and have really good player to work with.

The jury is still out on GH3 as we aren’t sure if can recruit or coach. This is a big season for him.

Alyssa Latham (Syracuse) transfers to Tennessee. How does this relate to UB? Well:

Danny White is hired at UB, he hires Felisha Legette-Jack. Danny White leaves UB, (goes to UCF,) and is hired at Tennessee. Felisha Legette-Jack is hired at Syracuse and portals half our team to Syracuse over a year or so.

Mark Alnutt hires Becky Burke, who had a brief stop at D2 Charleston where they played Glenville State, coached by Kim Caldwell. Burke grabs two Glenville State players (Stone and Winfield) as transfers in her first season at UB. With Burke leaving USC Upstate, one of her players (Harness) transfers to Marshall.

The following year Caldwell is hired at Marshall.

Now we’re in this off-season and Danny White fires the Tennessee coach and hires Caldwell. Burke signs her old player (Harness), who just played for Caldwell at Marshall, from the portal. And now Caldwell signs FLJ’s star freshman (Latham) to Tennessee.

The Circle has been completed. Everybody has taken somebody and has had somebody taken from them.

Well done, it feels like we are all in one giant pool grabbing on to whatever we can to survive. I wonder how FLJ likes losing a star. Don’t believe it has really happened to her so far.

    Kanye's new team.

He had such a weird stay here at UB under JW and GH3. Will be interesting to see if he gets PT and can be productive there.

they were 10-20 this year and looks like a new HC.

For sure, but I never considered SLU a great basketball program. I just learned that the gig at SLU pays considerably more.

Can’t really blame the player following the coach. Will be interesting to see how he performs a level up. Personally, I think he will do really well. His coach already knows how to use him.

I believe at least two players from UCONN declared for the draft. So whether is draft or portal, everyone getting hit.

They lost their top 3 to the draft last year. Losing to the NBA stinks, but losing to the portal sucks way worse imo.

Indiana State’s coach, Josh Shertz goes to Saint Louis and takes his best player with him. Tough time to be an Indiana State fan.

Tough to be a fan of any team right now. Even Duke and Kentucky are getting hit. The only one I haven’t heard much from is UConn. Not sure how they are holding up.
