  1. How did Alumni's future turn into "changing the football stadium"? Alumni has been full all season, whereas football is close to empty (very sadly) many times. Why are people clamoring on here for adding seats again? Let's pack the current facilities consistently, get several winning seasons in a row in both sports, and have some more people pony up some more $$ (too many people on this site saying they don't donate...every dollar helps!), then we can worry about adding seats. I'd be on board with some additional revenue from basketball seat prices going up (not ridiculously as to not scare people off who are finally filling the place), also can increase the "donation" (again, nothing crazy), but this will add to the current bottom line. I believe in our current AD and believe he will get the job done in due time. 1st step, let's get out there and support these teams down the stretch! 6 regular season games left, and all are important, both for the men and women!

Road wins are always good wins. See NIU as an example.

Road wins are always good wins, most definitely! This week's 2 wins were definitely big wins, and extremely challenging ones. The rankings are about where they're going to remain at this point, there shouldn't be major swings up or down unless teams lose games that they shouldn't. It's not lie earlier in the season where teams were just building their body of work. We are 25 games in, people should know what we've got...and what we've got is a 22-3 team with a winning Q1 record and 10 road wins. That's pretty darn awesome.

0 for 3 so far. To be expected but disappointing that the two road wins don’t mean much.

Not sure that they "don't mean much". We won 2 games in which we were favored in, albeit tough environments. We are 22 in NET and 24 in Kenpom, so we're right around where we should be ranked in the poll.

How would they drop off the rankings winning two road games in tough enviroments....one of which also had 20 wins.  There’s no way.

I don't think they should move down. We all know that they had 2 quality wins this week. I agree with some of the other posters though, you never know with these guys. Cincy was 26th, went 1-0 beating Wichita St at home today (not a big move upward), Auburn went 1-1 (shouldn't move up), Washington 1-0 beating Wash. St. by 2 yesterday (not a big move upward). That being said, we should be safe. #24 MD won earlier in the week to #12 but lost to #6, so they shouldn't move much. I'll be happy with 25 tomorrow, and as long as we keep winning (which we will) we should slowly creep back upward as teams lose.

I believe German was arrested for driving with a suspended license and was suspended from the team because of this and other issues. So don’t expect NIU to do much of anything.

Sounds like a heck of a guy.

It doesn't matter what else happens in the MAC. We control our own destiny. We'll finish 16-2 and no one else will have more than 14 wins. Take care of ourselves and that's all that matters at this point.

uhh...I have.  The track makes me disconnected from the game.  I do not enjoy watching games there.  I'm glad you do.  However, many people in the community do feel this way, as you admit, and that's a problem if we want people to actually come to games.

Then please round up $$ to change it. I'm not sure how people constantly being negative about it helps UB sell tickets in the future. I'm at every game, and like I said, I see the games just fine. Sorry that it's not to everyone's (including your) liking. Instead of knocking everything UB does wrong constantly, (players, facilities, coaches) push for something to help promote it or make it better. This is supposed to be a UB Fan forum. Yes, everything isn't perfect and things can always be improved, and no I don't see the world with rose colored glasses, but come on. If the small number of people who actually utilize this site, and are "UB Fans" aren't the positive ones, how can we expect John Q Public to get behind UB?

Honestly, out of all the capital projects possible for the athletics department, making changes to alumni would probably be bottom of the list.  Not that it couldn't be better, but I think that money would be better spent on making the football stadium not a terrible place to watch a game, or on training/practice facilities which will help lure recruits.  Top of my list would be a dedicated basketball facility for practices, training, etc.  State of the art.

I love how so many "Buffalo people" crush our football stadium. I see the games just fine from my seats, in fact, I've never once had a problem seeing the game well. For all those who don't like it, please make a donation to the UB football excellence fund today, and make it a big one to fix this "terrible place".

I do however agree with the rest of your statement.

I have asked this question before. There can not be any checks and balances on the jobs the officials are doing!!!!! Is it up to each conference to police the officials???? Terrible calls in the first half and it evened out somewhat in the 2nd half but just not a good way to watch a game. Go Bulls!!!!

Frank Spencer is absolutely the worst ref out there. Always have felt that way with him. He should in no way be officiating games, especially Q1 games with NCAA tournament possibilities on the line for both teams. The moment I saw him, I knew it was going to be bad...it always is when he's around.

Great wins this week. 5 out of 7 on the road and now 10-2 in league. The ass-kicking this team takes from many on here day in and day out was put to shame with this win tonight. I don't want to hear how "horrendous the first half was" or anything like it. It's a 40 minute game, and the better team ended up winning, on the road, in each game this week. Now they can finish up with 4 out of 6 at home and hopefully get some momentum heading into neutral court games at the Q, where they are going to win 3 days straight. This team has to endure constant "highest attendance of the season" from their opponents in every game in league this year. They get their opponents (and fans) best when they step in to the gym.  There's a reason why home court is worth like 8 points in the projections. We'll get those 8 points on our side for 4/6 now, that's a 16 point swing for the non-mathematicians out there. In Cleveland, it's no advantage, so our numbers should be heavy on the positive side, with regard to projections.

I'm proud of this team. Harris has struggled with his shooting. I hope it picks up over the next month, but regardless, his rebounding has greatly improved to pick up for his low shooting %. Graves had some man sized rebounds early in this game, and is very consistent with his efforts. Dontay has been a beast, on both ends. Davonte can't seem to hit the FTs, but made a big 3 from the corner tonight. CJ wasn't his normal self, but hit a couple 3s in big spots tonight, playing with 3 and 4 fouls (soft ones, I might add). Montell was playing way above the rim. Perk, huge, huge, huge tonight. Jeenathan had 2 coast to coast plays that showed why he was rated highly. Rondo provides a few spot minutes to keep the speed up and let the others stay fresh for the big 2nd halves that we need (he and Jeenathan are still growing into the D-1 play).

I look forward to the next many weeks watching and relishing this top-25 ranked team, something that we may have never thought would come around. What, 15 straight weeks next week? That's damn nasty, especially for a "just a MAC team".

Big game tomorrow, go support the girls! Go Bulls!

  9. I've always ordered from UB. In the past, they've sent out an email ordering form (one had one online) near the final game of the season. You can order the number of tickets that you want for each game that you plan on attending. You only get charged for games in which UB plays. This way you can order men's & women's tickets if you are heading to Cleveland. Pickup is done in the lobby around 90 minutes before game time. UB gets allocated a certain block of sections based on where their seeding is (generally top seeded teams get seating behind the team's bench, while lower seeded teams are across from their team's bench, until the final game). I think that in the past tickets were $32 or $34 for each men's session (2 games until the finals) and $10 for the women's. No additional fees were given in the past.

That’s comparing apples to oranges. The MAC isn’t the Big10. Penn St, as poor as its conference record is, is ranked 58th best according to kenpom! Their NET is 70. UB looks horrible just now. I’ll take any win over a loss, but unless they up their game, they can forget an at-large bid.

Ok, so if we were to lose to Toledo who has a 53 NET rating, we're dead. I don't understand. I mean, based on what I read here, I'm really glad we aren't like we were 10 years ago, or else we would never read a single positive thing from anyone. We're 21-3, the best we've ever been, and there are more downtrodden comments than positive ones. I'm done.

9-2 Ohio down 10 at Toledo 6 mins to go
8-2 Miami up 19 with 14 mins to go
8-2 Buffalo down 9 with 17 mins to go
7-3 CMU up 28 with 15 mins to go.

If we comeback and Toledo holds on we'd be tied with Miami for 1st in the conference.

I only care about the last part. We need to come back and win this game. Nothing else matters beyond that.

you think we're not playing ugly?

Do you think that Michigan would've happily taken an ugly win versus a less than stellar Penn State team yesterday? Come on, we've won 8 out of MAC games (and many non-conference games) by 9 or more points. We're 21-3. What are you looking for? I don't understand how anyone can be unhappy with 21-3. No game has been perfect for us or any other team in basketball. Of course I'd love to see 24-0 winning by 50 every game, but be freaking realistic already, nobody does anything like that.
