Feels a lot like when Grant Rohach was starting for UB except I don’t think we have a Tyree Jackson sitting on the bench

Snyder is making smart decisions with the ball thus far but I’d love to see a bit more velocity behind his passes. It feels like they float in the air for ages.

On what app though? It’s weird none of the big Sportsbook apps even show the game or UB in general for futures. Every other MAC team is in play but us.
You're most likely a New York resident - New York Residents cannot bet on New York college teams.

Sure, who knows. I don’t mean to make a big deal of it, just an observation.
They did end up doing it, there was just a lot of steps in between they were obligated to since this was the championship game

Say whatever you want about the quality of TBT itself but there is nothing else in the world that would allow us to actually revisit the glory days of UB basketball by watching all these guys play together again in the same system working towards the same goal. I for one couldn’t be more thankful that the TBT exists for that reason.

With Mid-American Unity, Ohio 1804 and Brown and White all exiting after first round losses, the teams primarily composed of UB's mid-major peers are a combined 1-8 in the TBT tournament historically, with the one win coming from Mid-American Unity. Blue Collar U is now 6-1.

BCU will face the Nerd Team for the second time in two years after they pull off the upset against Boeheim’s Army.
BCU defeated The Nerd Team in a tough first round battle last year

I don't care what the level of competition was, seven triple doubles and one quadruple double in one season is absolutely bonkers. I'm really excited to see what she can do at the college level.

Pretty efficient scorer and good production in limited minutes - hope that isn’t a conditioning issue. Looks like he would be a solid plug and play option for next year

That could be interesting. My guess is he gets welcomed with open arms. I guess when he graduated at UB, he had the "U" emblem on his mortar board.
I hope there's no hard feelings - I think he's proven that he made the right choice. His path has led him to a legitimate NFL career. I sometimes wonder if things would have been different for Anthony Johnson had he made the same choice as KJ.

Really tough loss - best of luck to him I think he'll find success in the A10.

Defense has been sorely missing. All things considered a very welcome addition to the roster. Good get by the staff.

I would be good with that, maintain our Australian pipeline.
Agreed. I think Fair is all but gone but maybe we have a chance at keeping and building around Woolley.

FLJ raised the bar for the program. She’s likely the best coaching hire UB has made in the last 20 years. No ill will here - I wish her nothing but the best.
Honestly I think she could win a National Championship at SU.

Was just gonna post this. If they get Steele that would be huge.
That would be an impressive hire. Having Groce, Steele and Boals in the division could only help to raise the profile of the MAC.

Bona just found a few million in some couch cushions.
Good for them - I hope that’s true; I don’t want the Bonnie’s to fall into obscurity - Schmidt has done a great job there.

Getting a lot of offensive rebounds but Tennessee is challenging well and Buffalo is not finishing. All things considered not a terrible start

I don't know if you said this in jest or not, but while there has been some non-D1 programs with female head coaches, this would make a big splash and is the type of out-of-the-box thinking that could keep her with UB. Certainly we can't compete with Syracuse on most other levels.
I honestly love the idea but don’t think it would ever come to pass for many reasons. FLJ is very supportive of the men’s coaching staff and I can’t envision her ever taking a position that would force them out.

Akron’s road to the NCAA tournament just got a bit easier - this game could get real ugly real quick.

Loved watching the celebration. You can tell how much it meant to the team and FLJ. Woolley was incredible.

I think whitesell runs a very good program but is having difficulties also winning the tournament
I think thats why whitesell is such a hot button topic and has been for a while, he runs a good program day to day but in game coaching he lacks
I’d like to know what you’d consider running a good program and I mean that sincerely. Under his tenure we’ve had an assistant coach forced to resign over NCAA violations and two players kicked off the team following serious criminal charges. So it’s a program that shouldn’t be called a “clean” program by any account, and it also has failed to live up to high but not unreasonable expectations considering what he was left with.
If when Oats left we knew where this team would be where it is today, would there be anybody who would still want Whitesell hired? It was a continuity hire and now all the continuity that he was hired for have played their last game of consequence for UB.
I don’t fault the hire. It was a reasonable choice at the time. I absolutely fault the extension and every from here on out there that Whitesell remains HC.
I really hope he is self aware enough to recognize he’s failed what he was brought in for and he retires. Let somebody up for a job salvage this program before it’s too late if it isn’t already.

Hopefully Whitesell "retires" now that the season is over. Might be a hot take but I am not going to miss Williams-Segu-Mballa. I hope the next group plays more like CJ-Perk-Jordan-Caruthers-Harris group, team basketball with hard nose defense.
Williams is an incredibly talented player but is not the leader we needed him to be. Mballa - I don't know what happened to him this year but I don't think this team would be worse off in replacing his minutes. But Segu 100% bought into the role he had on this team and played with intensity and fire every single minute he wore a Buffalo jersey. I'll miss him for sure.

Congrats guys, you got what you wanted. Now you can talk shit about all these guys for the next 6 months.
We aren't getting what we want. Whitesell is the head coach and will continue to be. You're satisfied with the trajectory this program is on - you're the one getting what you want.
