I wish her well. Won’t root for her. In fact I’ll continue to root against Syracuse and hope they go winless.

I won’t root for coach Jack, Dyashia or any asst. coach or player who abandoned our commmunity. I paid to see them play basketball, enjoyed watching immensely, but now…Meh…who cares? Same goes for whichever team they went to after they left UB. GO BULLS.

Major difference being that the student-athletes literally are not under any form of long term contract.  Being able to make $100 from a business for an Instagram post does not make these kids professional athletes and you can't just choose to ignore that because you're upset

Yes, but a scholarship at a D1 university is not without value. That is a “contract”, albeit one that is not long term. There’s probably some middle ground that would provide players a reasonable amount of mobility while at the same time provide the sports program/coach some increase in continuity.

I do not think they should be "locked in" to four years at a given school/team, but their needs to be some middle ground. How many chances does one get to "get it right."

One free transfer, ok, I can live with that. Some switching 3 or more times? There has to be a caveat.

These “kids” are no younger than many professional athletes in the NHL, MLB, professional rugby, etc. who are under contract. There are penalties for leaving those organizations while under contract. NCAA D1 basketball isn’t that removed from pro sports, especially now that NCAA has allowed athletes (I’ve mothballed the term “student-athlete”) to cash in on their “name, image and likeness”. I’m in favor of some control over college “unrestricted free agency”.

Wilson? If it's all of those, it's a complete reboot. We'll see soon enough. If that happens, it's UB playing in the ACC.

Am I wrong to think SU currently has decent recruits - scholarship players who may be as or more talented than our players not named Fair or Woolley? Also, as much as I like and respect FLJ, I wonder how many current SU players will buy into her “message”.

I too will be sad if she leaves.  I'll be mad if she decimates the team.

FLJ has had a special relationship with her players that translated to success on the floor and appealed to the public, as evidenced by a pretty steady growth in fans during her tenure at UB. I hate to see that go. Coach would be a fool to not try to take Fair and maybe Woolley with her if she goes to SU or any other program. As for her replacement, I don’t have a deep well of faith in our AD, and I don’t think UB will pay the kind of money it would take to hire a coach that could maintain the team at the current level of success. Just my 2 cents.

I don't disagree with your sentiments. It is nice to see that there are more than just UConn now. Play has elevated and the numbers of quality players spread around to more programs is encouraging. It's never good if one school loses 3-4 games over a 4 year period and win by 30+ every week even in tournament play.

I am a big fan of the women’s game (and women’s sports in general, having coached ranked HS and college women’s rugby teams plus having an uber-jock daughter). Regardless, I honestly can’t recall the last time I watched an entire UCONN game.

The Women's NCAA Tournament is definitely setup to benefit the Top 8 programs each year, any team outside that bubble to get to the end really has to take the hard road. On this flip side, I think they are doing it to help progress the Women's game by having "Known Entities" playing in the big televised games to showcase the best players.

On the Men's side, half the fun is walking UB beat Arizona, that's really what attracts most casual fans. Most people watch the first round or two. College basketball fans watch the final 4 and championship game, but the people in my office that are eating a buffet in the conference room want a team with a nun rooting for them or some great backstory win and not Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, etc.

It's just a different setup for different reasons, but most of us on this board will watch anything because we love the game. I've been know to watch cornhole, axe throwing, darts and spikeball on TV (my wife thinks I should be in therapy), but I just enjoy competition.

    Go Bulls!!🤘🏼🤘🏼

I believe you are right about the NCAAW motivation for home games being awarded to the top teams in the early rounds. But I find this method to promote interest in their game pretty sleazy and pathetic. If you have to “cheat” to sell your product what does that say about not only the product, but about you?

not exactly a neutral court advantage

It’s a garbage format. The chairwoman of the NCAAW selection committee was going on about fighting for “equity” between what the men and women receive during their respective tournaments, but apparently “competitive fairness” within their own tournament wasn’t on the agenda.

How do they teach tackling? Hit people but don't use your arms? Annnd another def breakdown.

Agreed. Bulls appear to be unable to separate on offense and close on defense…you can coach technique but you can’t teach speed. However, there’s no excuse for poor tackling. Sheesh, if the Bulls coaching staff can’t manage this, just invite the damn rugby coach to practice for a day…
