After so many poor showing by him, scared to say, give Graves the ball here. He hit's FT. Or to Segu...BUT OH NO WILLIAMS!
-
Mballa makes the play but I'm not excited....
-
Jeenathan taking 2 3's when Ohio's better players are in foul trouble...dumb hero ball.

Here comes the hope..then the expected let down. If we pull this out without scoring over 70 points I'll be shocked.

Fleck and Sonny Dykes are names being floated around. That makes me more worried, if White hires Fleck, LL to the Gophers is a worry.

Huh, I didn’t realize that was due to talent. I thought he might be sick or injured.
Me too, he was no longer on the roster at some point. Being part of the 2016 signing class and mostly a special teams player I assume he is 1 year eligible. With Patterson, Wright, and Terry all back, 2021 will be about grooming the next wave of Tate, Rich Miller, and exciting to see how fast Jaillen Howze will get on the field. And Dolac looked like he may play himself into a scholarship.

Justin Mulbah put his name into the portal, but no surprise as he didn't play last season.
-
A great move, great for him. He will have his say of their next coach and cleaning up the FB program. Now he has to contend with Greene's Auburn program, and get the great Vols basketball program ahead of a surging Oats program.

That bold point is not correct at all. Only FBS school but we aren't even the only public AAU in the state not in the P5. There are a good number of public D1 schools not in P5 conferences.
The second point also doesn't include the fact that Buffalo also has some of the most travel in the conference. The spending is there in operational costs but isn't exactly a luxury. And the spending isn't anywhere near a P5 level.
I am aware. I didn't think I needed to differentiate us as the only public FBS AAU, as SBU and UC-Davis aren't going FBS any time soon. Only a few P5 schools list SBU as a peer. The majority of state flagships/systems in other states choose to compare themselves to UB or UB and SBU. We are a top 40 public U.
UB travel costs are not even the most in the MAC many years. We have one of the highest MAC budget but, right, we aren't even spending close to the Houston's and UCF's in the AAC. P5 tv money would only just cover our current institutional subsidy, we'd need to have more peel off 10 times the new advertisers we have earned with our recent sports successes.

Great to point out the KenPom ranking but KenPom quantifies total game and how it is played (additionally KenPom rankings also use priors). I think what most people are mad about here is the coaching specifically JW's lineup choices and late game handling. I dont think anyone would argue the team has some talent but he is a bad coach. The talent is keeping them in games and he is doing nothing to help.
Playing Brock more than 8 minutes a game is a fire able offense in itself.
Great points, though on Brock, what is the alternative? Because the rest of the bench are not better. Fagan wants to be like Montell McCrea, but can't pull it off. His averages are similar to Smart's and Raheem Johnson's, just a body in the middle, allowing Mballa and Williams play their true positions.

This is a joke right?
Is Stony Brook a B1G school playing in the AEC?
Is UMass a B1G school playing in the A10?
Is Texas State a B1G (or B12) school playing in the Sun Belt?
I could go on...
What metrics could you possibly be using that don't apply to other schools which you think makes UB a B1G school?
Seriously, Miami and Ohio are no different than UB. I get thinking the most of our school and program but you're delusional.
As an institution we are the only public AAU school not in a P5 League, and Rutgers, Maryland, Wisconsin, Virginia, Va Tech, Kansas, WVU, all classify UB as a peer. No other MAC school is seen in that way.
As a program, no, our budget is 2nd to Ohio in league, and we spend less than some MAAC schools. You can only be the next Gonzaga if you do as they did, parlay years of winning into a basketball budget that dwarfs your conference mates.

Roy Baker put his name in the portal today, so now wait and see his choice for his extra year, like many others.
Baker to the other end of the Bluegrass state from Lefevbre, Eastern Kentucky.

His first game without a 3 made since 2 instances of it last season, even though we won those games. He is playing more like Davonte with dimes and boards (WHICH WE DO NOT NEED WE NEED HIS 16 PPG) but weaker D and bad shots. His best games prop up his scoring average but overall he isn't even 4th team All-MAC. I wish Brewton was an option but he isn't doing much either lately.

Senior leadership by Graves is nonexistent
Yep, he does not shoot for long stretches and we claw back, then he makes 1 shot and starts thinking he can be the savior, when others were the ones who got us back.

3 years left after this season on his deal, doubly bad deal where it should have been 4....yeah Reggie was let loose with 3 years left, but with pandemic finances it may be too tough to pull off. Only a miracle can save our sanity this season, or hope Jack jacking up 3's better than Graves can change anything next year. I can't see Whitesell doing either to this point, he may just do well enough to get to year 4 which is troubling to imagine.

Tyrone Hill announced he is returning for another year to win the MAC as well! A great day when 2 All-MAC Bulls know this fanbase craves another title as bad as they do.

They aren't.
Whitesell hasn't even won one game in the tournament
Agreed, any glimmer of constancy the last 2 seasons is dashed before we know it. So what if we get up and shine against Harvard, DePaul, OT with SU on the road, when we then blow home games to teams below .500 and fail against the top MAC teams?
Down 18 to a conference game at home...the last time Oats was down 18 in the MAC was Kent on the road in 2018, and we lost by 3. We then went 11-3 the rest of that season. No optimism to duplicate that feat. I was feeling good that they were averaging 84 ppg, thinking, "There is an offence running like under Oats and we got this!" Then this mess.

He'll get playing time for sure with his experience. WKU has 19 players looking elsewhere in the portal, mostly recruits of their former coach. Tons of transfers coming in too.

An article on 247 reports Marks is receiving interest from UNC, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and UCLA.
McDuffie, Cook Jr, Burell does sound about right. Their body types and skillset look similar to Reed, Theo Anderson, Hawkins in 2017.
Now reported Marks is hearing from USC, Northwestern, Indiana, Rutgers, USF, Cal, and La Tech. Thank goodness we never got to see what list Mack entering the portal would have produced.
Just today an Akron CB, a good Ohio CB Marlin Brooks, and BGSU's starting center, all entered the portal. So as Lance said a few weeks ago, a lot of team will have unknowns long into the 2nd semester.

Next year's schedule breakdown: H: Wagner, Coastal Carolina, BGSU, OHIO, WMU, NIU Road: 'Huskers, ODU, Flashes, Zips, Miami, Ball St
A Ball St fan posted a ton of their players have announced they are coming back, as of now. 20 of 22 starters. They'll have to be favorites.

Marks announces he is entering his name to the transfer portal.
If he goes, it would hit the RB room even harder than receiver group of Johnson, KJ, Jones, and Mabry. We recovered ok the following year then, hopefully others could step up next year.
