  1. Two more:

SaVeon Brown committed tonight. Young DB transfer from Western Michigan. Had other MAC and an Iowa State offer out of high school. Per his tweets portal offers by UB, Akron, EKU.

Mathew Hilty a transfer from ECC. Smaller LB most likely a PWO

  2. Cortland win 38-37 when North Central fails on 2 pt try. Zac Boyes being from Ken West will get a bit of local fanfare.

Grats to them, and I would have figured Brockport would have been the D3 SUNY to win first since they have won a few tourny games in recent years.

    The Scoobies though...🤣

If this is the choices for next year at WR, and no QB, this offense looks to be in trouble.  BTW, no Jevell Fugerson on the roster.

I noted Fugerson, as he is in the UB directory. Likely working on the academic side.

I always cheered for Johnson to have his shot, but he took a while to become a starter, and last year he had no TD's in the last 2/3 of the season. Not an ALL-MAC caliber WR. Harding and Curry were underwhelming too. Staff have to do better with some real WR speed from the portal to complement McMillian and Morrow.

  4. Great points on the lopsided defense. We have to rebuild the line and find SOME kind of pass rushers. But all-MAC talent behind them with LB's, Grant, add McCartherens too.

Running game was merely ok so hopefully Sperling becomes the guy to replace Cook. A healthy McMillan is key, and Morrow should fit into Marlyn Johnson's spot and hopefully show why he had so many P5 offers. Jevell Fugerson has the talent profile, but has to grown and earn a spot.

  6. BN story on the process

"The key points: The initial list of 25-30 candidates, which included Halcovage, was reduced to 15-20. … Hodgson, an assistant at Alabama, was not interviewed. … Alnutt made one trip out of town to meet with a candidate at an NCAA tournament site. … Following a series of Zoom interviews, six candidates were brought to Buffalo for visits. … Alnutt said one person turned down the job before Halcovage was hired."

    He heard us, at least:

Alnutt told me. “I love the passion of our fans. There is no apathy when it comes to men’s basketball, which is phenomenal. Your fans are seeing or hearing and wondering, ‘What the heck is going on?’ ”

    On Hodgson:

“He was on our radar, but didn’t get to the point he was one of those six (who visited campus),” Alnutt said. “He had his opportunity at Arkansas State, and we had a great conversation the day he got the job. I’m a Bryan Hodgson fan, and I look forward to seeing what he does at Arkansas State.”
