I'm gonna jump way ahead and am most concerned that no matter what we do we will be an 8 or 9 and have to play a 1 seed in the second game. I know that's looking waaaaayyyyy ahead but I already dont see us better than a #8. I just really want to make the sweet 16 and have that game with a chance at the Elite 8. 

Today Jay Bilas still has an article where he has UB as #12 (not a 12 seed...12 overall) and in the category of a possible Final Four team. That's pretty good from a guy who favors power conference teams. I'll say it again let's enjoy this ride and be glad they haven't peaked yet. I believe the best is yet to come.

What bothers me most , I think, is the damn selection committee is so biased I think UB could win out from here and still maybe 'only' be an 8 seed. If a mid major gives them any reason whatsoever to downgrade them they will. Its discouraging but i guess that's why they play the games.

I dont think we need to start thinking were gonna lose a bunch. Ya we haven't played our best but haven't we won every game by 9 or more except the 1 loss? I'm glad they haven't peaked yet.

Does anyone know of alumni who in the past have made big donations to the sports dept? Or is that a pipedream? 

I believe Oats really does want to stay here but even he in the story said there comes a point where you cant ignore the potential  salary increase. He even mentions there are people out there with money who could pony up some to keep him here.

Twice now I've downloaded the app and read the article and then removed the app if you care to do that. There is also a very long podcast of Nate Oats with Doug Gottlieb that was pretty interesting if anyone hasn't heard it.

If UB can win the next 10 or so I think they'd have to get to around 10th just by all the other teams losing a game or 2.

What were Fagan and Bertram supposed to be coming in? I dont have any memory of them.

As much as the selection process is a complete sham as long as UB had no more than 2 MAC losses I still think they could lose in the MAC tourney and get an at large bid. I think they've made enough 'noise' this year for an at large and they will be ranked pretty much every week. I dont think it's going to matter though, they are gonna roll the MAC regular season and tourney. The more I watch this team no one in the MAC is even close to them.

I expect them to have some sluggish halves (maybe games) against the lesser teams in the MAC. So hard to be up for every game. Impossible actually.  But theyll be ready for the better teams and theyll take care of business. Destroyed 2 of the better teams already by 30 and 16 on the road.  What a season its shaping up to be.

Doesn't Syracuse come here next year? That game with another making a doubleheader would be a big draw I'd think especially with a big Cuse following around this area.

Pegula is not a basketball guy and he's only interested if theres enough profit in it for him. Despite what he said when he bought the Sabres he doesnt even operate the Sabres or Bills without making a profit. I know making a profit is his right I'm just saying it's in contrast to when he said only winning matters and if he wanted to make a profit he'd dig another well.

Right but I was referring to the old company line that it's all about the student athlete that the NCAA keeps telling us. It's all about money and I hate the hipocrasy. And there are plenty of mids that get screwed every year for and 8-8 power conference school.

Any 20 point road win in conference is good to me.

I agree preseason predictions dont always mean much but they returned I think 3 starters and have 4 seniors and were 11-7 last year in conference so they should be pretty good. But even at home they were no match for UB.

So Eastern is supposed to be good in the MAC, and UB goes there, doesnt play great and wins by 20. Pretty impressive.

And what a difference it makes when teams play on a neutral court (NCAA tourney). UB can beat almost anyone on a neutral court. The trick is winning 3 or 4 in a row (at least).

All these rankings are designed either purposely or not to favor the power conferences. They are not designed to ever reward mid majors. Its maddening. Like in football how can Central Florida go undefeated 2 straight years and not even have a chance to be champions? Why even play if you have ZERO chance to even play for a championship even by winning every game??? And they have the balls to tell us it's all about the student athlete.  Shameful.

Speaking of Reggie is ,I think his name was, Recovering hillbilly still on here?  I just remember he thought Reggie was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
