  1. How many season ticket seats are there for UB basketball? If there are, say, 2500 season ticket holders and a seating capacity (including SRO) of 6500, that means roughly 4000 available seats each game. I would estimate that over the past eight years the number of times that the ‘True Blue’ student attendance has approached or slightly exceeded 1000 has been, perhaps, 3 times per year. If by changing the venue to KBC one hopes  for a student turnout of 10,000, I would call that dream hallucinatory. Are there any schools anywhere where 10000 of the students attend a basketball game?

I admire the goal of luring top tier opponents here, and, even though I consider Key Bank Arena a poor platform, it would be great to host a doubleheader/tournament there with the blue blood programs. I don’t have faith in that happening.

  2. When a player that was recruited, signed, coached, nurtured at UB decides to fly the coop - regardless of whether that player was a star a bench warmer or bailed really early - I hope that player falls flat on his face. I will never root for him. He’s a traitor.

  3. I’ll take Jordan 8 days a week. Much better defender. As good at dishing. Better at getting to the basket, and better from the outside. Only advantage that Bearden had is he is a much better free throw shooter. Bearden is injury prone and not a guy whom you can count on. Jordan may not have been as highly rated when he came to Buffalo, but I’m glad that he’s a Bull. Bearden...no thanks.

  4. My wife and I have enjoyed season tickets for the past 8 years in Section 114 Row P...aisle seats. If they tripled the price, it would still be a bargain. Our daughter will be starting a fellowship in Ann Arbor in July. She wanted to know if we would be interested in going to one of the basketball games there. Until she found out the cost - from 5 to 50 times the cost of a UB ticket.

Idk I could see Marquette jumping us and I’d be ok with that. Still it’s going to be great. If only Kentucky would’ve lost...lol

I agree ole miss should be ranked and maybe k-state but I don’t think they could jump us

    Let’s go SF tonight!!!

West Virginia is currently 0 - 4 in Big 12. So our victory there continues to lose its luster. Syracuse is currently an 11 seed per Lunardi...on the bubble. Southern Illinois - nowhere. San Francisco has been dropped from the in crowd by Lunardi. A Doms win against the Zags would bolster the Bulls’ body of work, but I suspect that UB will have to win the MAC conference tournament to qualify for the ‘Dance’. The MAC will get 1 bid.

  6. The Key Bank Center is antiseptic, sterile, and if only 7 or 8 thousand show up, it will look and feel deserted as well. I can’t see a big enough draw for any MAC opponent this year. I don’t know squat about the financial ramifications, but would hope that AA would be SRO for the rest of this year. You’ve got a top 20 team, for crying out loud! If this program doesn’t regress, I can even see the UB townies starting to jump on the bandwagon. The BN is starting to finally give a little bit better press. The key is retaining Oats and crew, and continuing to nurture interest amongst the students. This is getting HUGE AH!!

  7. How is this for a ranking prediction? Kenpom.com ranked Illinois 83rd on Nov 8th. After they lost at home against Michigan tonight they are ranked 109th! Illinois is 4-12. They are 0-5 in Big 10. You can’t make this stuff up. If they win a couple more, they’ll be on the bubble. Pathetic...

Worst decision ever. Just drop the ball into the lane. At worst, they grab the ball and score 2 points and the game ends. To throw it far away with a chance to not be touched is moronic. Regardless, incredible play by MU on the inbounds catch and score. Also, Howard is ridiculous.

Totally agree. This one is all on McDermott.

  9. I don’t believe the football polls. Does anyone else believe that the Bulls should be ranked as high as they have been by USA Today? 34th doesn’t seem right...nor does 43rd. It was a great year, but I’ll bet there were at least 50 teams from the P5 that would have beaten the Bulls pretty badly this year.
