Powell just can’t do enough for this team

It is all the promos he needs to read. Never does he add rambling thoughts. Yes, it can be loud. Yes, the DJ might be one rambling but that is not very often (and only added in the past few seasons).

My criticism of the PA dude comes across as ‘ad hominem’. I wish I hadn’t put my beef as such. However, we are done with UB basketball because of noise unrelated to the game, the band, the cheering et al.

It wasn’t Covid, parking, winter weather, a drop off in competitiveness…it was because of the inane, and relentless noise emanating from the guy who handles the PA duties. We’re both 73, and the music that the DJs play is not in our wheelhouse. But the ‘music’ paled in comparison to the main PA dude. Any break in the action - we couldn’t even hear each other talk, because he was shouting into the mic. He drained all the joy out of watching live basketball.

Is there any reason why Blocker can’t get more of Powell’s minutes? Powell takes a lot of shots, including 3s, and his percentages are bad. What am I missing?

At least there seems to be a pretty decent crowd. Good to see the students back supporting their team.

Ball St began turning the ball over right from the start, and UB was on fire. Foster fed Jack for a couple layups and Jones and Adams hit a couple outside shots. I didn’t see anything different from other games except everything was falling. Some of Ball State’s TOs were unforced. Sparks was a non entity. Their only weapon, Coleman, started cooking later and couldn’t miss. As others have already mentioned, it was great to see the Bulls hit back after the Cardinals cut the lead to 9. This team is fun to watch, and when they are on they’ll match up with anybody in the MAC. Can they be consistent? Let’s see how they follow up at Kent on Friday. The Golden Flashes will be licking their wounds, but I think the Bulls can give them a game.

Watching Kent at Miami. Miami has a guy, Anderson Mirambeaux, who’s 6’8” and is listed at 305 - but looks like possibly 325, and moves like he’s…sub 300. It will be interesting to see how Jack does versus him.

True. Maybe not a hog, but he seems to hold the ball a lot, or one on one it too much.

The TV crew hasn’t mentioned it, but I think Jack is changing the trajectory of some of the Huskies’ shots.
