That’s always a challenge when you play an excellent first half. No let downs!

I absolutely love Mballa’s ability and WILLINGNESS to run the floor. He gets blocks coming back on D and buckets and put backs running the floor to the offensive end. Transition is the least talked about and as important as any aspect of the game.

Deservedly so with his play tonight.

Definitely remiss In not mentioning Brock. Best minutes of his career so far!

A couple early observations. Doing a great job on the boards and defense. Mballa great rebounder but needs a lot of work around the bucket especially scoring through contact and foot work. Williams...I’m seeing signs he’s getting the idea on defense. Did a very good job moving his feet while his man was moving inside and out and maintained very good defensive position throughout. Very bright spot!

Any word from the box office or elsewhere on ticket sales/size of crowd?

Thank you Danny White. Although not perfect he more than anyone else imo is responsible for the resurgence in UB athletics.

Most important observation of the night; you might recall something I posted on the Kent thread. A bright Akron fan ( I know I know a bright Akron fan is an oxymoron) observed, “both these teams suck!” Well it is readily apparent that Akron sucks more!!

If I was Jim I would make sure Mballa always played the screen for Jackson. Jackson cannot beat him off the dribble or get a 3 off.

No way to say this politely but these refs suck!

Terrible stretch there. Brick in no mans land in defense. Turnovers. 10 pt lead down to 1. Momentum in their side. Good time out by Whitesell. This could be the turning point in the game. Time to come out with fire, get a good shot, step up defensive intensity and start rebounding again!

Of course akron shot like a second beginners team but we out rebounded then 25-12 in first in a testament to good defense. Jordan fell asleep near the end when Jackson passé it inside then relocated for an open 3. One of the few missteps on D in the first half. Too bad about the ft violation.
