If you don’t think the refs had any influence in that game then you are naive and/or just haven't played basketball to fully understand. For example, that 5 minute call on the inbound. When was the last time you saw a ref call that? And at that time of the game? Comon. That was bs. We do have a good team when we play the other team even if they throw a zone at us but when we play against the other team PLUS the refs dectating the tempo, we get no rythym and no chance to build momentum. 

I know we didn’t shoot well but the refs controlled the tempo of this game by calling all those fouls. I’m not saying they weren’t evenly distributed fouls for both teams but these whistle happy refs kill our style of play and allows NIU to get a shot at the upset. We need to get out of the MAC. 

Huge week. Need to take it game by game. Stay focused. Defense needs to stay at a high level and that will lead to offense. Hope they are locked in and ready to go. Only thing that worries me is if the refs somehow decide they want to keep it close and make too many calls. Go Bulls.

Anyone got a transcript of that article about Oats in the Athletic? Not sure how I feel about the writer talking about big time programs wanting him as their next coach. I thought that was a bit classless. Who says we don’t keep him or he wants to stay? A ignorant dig at Buffalo and totally uncalled for in my opinion.  

I got an idea. This is long overdue. They should promote a Buffalo Braves night and it will be centered around finally putting up banners of players jerseys and divison championships. Keybank center has no banners from Buffalo’s pro basketball team. What a way to honor them, plus showcase Buffalo’s current best basketball team UB.

Anyone got a prediction as far as attendence for this one? Are the students back? 

I think the main difference between Cuse’s zone and EMU’s zone is the length plus overall athleticism of the Syracuse players. We should match up well or if not better with EMU height wise. Hope we can use this game to improve the offense against zones going forward. Go Bulls.

Curious how many seasons Reggie will have at Canisius until the pressure is turned on to bring them to the big dance. If I were the AD there, I’d have the clock running and would hold him accountable. There should be no special treatment since he’s from the area and had some success with UB. Just a thought. 

This is like foreshadowing for our basketball team. Not to sound pessimistic but more realistic that it could happen and people start leaving. Unless we get out of this conference and actually play at a higher level, our players and coaches will never be satisfied. I only blame the administration if this program goes back to mediocrity in a few years. 

Honestly, Drew Anderson was better in my opinion. More accurate and had arm strength. 

Need to bury them early at their hs gym. Start a new win streak and get back to into top 15.

You’re right. Accuracy is definitely an issue. Many throws that he’s completed were jump balls. He needs to improve accuracy the most and hit players in stride. Also, He has decent running skills but that wont save him at the next level. Hope he stays and works on getting better. 

Tyree needs another year in college. Dude needs to be more aware in the pocket and when to throw it away on the run. 

We played them even or better for 25 minutes. Honestly, I saw it as we ran out of gas. Kids needed a few days off. 2nd half they got tired and thats when marquette pulled away.

Honestly, I rather us lose a few games in conference just so the team can stay hungry going into the tournament. If they are undefeated and lose say in the second round, that would be horrible and people will forget about their great regular season. I rather us lose in the regular season and then make it to say the final four. Thats more memorable. 

Need to come ready to play. Keep it rolling. Bulls in top 10 after this. Stay focused. 

Huge statement game opportunity for UB. Need to play with urgency and not let up. We need to show the nation that we are the best basketball program in the state of New York. Beat Cuse!

I hear that about Nassau but I rather play power 5 programs than Hofstra and Stony Brook. If people see us playing them they’ll think we are on their level. We should aim higher and play syracuse or uconn every year.

Totally agree with the need to play in msg or barclay more often. It’s a disgrace how we havent been able to tap into this market. When i went to UB, it felt like half the school was from downstate nyc. So many alumni in the area. We can get into the 2k classic or preseason nit etc 

But those teams are also in better conferences which means better competition and higher level of basketball talent. I think we’d draw more fans just on playing in a power 5 conference and not Akron or Ball St to the regular fan.

We need to sell out Alumni. Get that place rocking. No let down. Keep it rolling. 

It’s all about the conference. You bring in big name schools like Cuse, Villinova or Uconn to alumni people will come. But until they upgrade in conference, people will dismiss the level of play even though UB is legit good. 

Solid win. Where do you think our ranking is next week? I say 14th in the country sounds about right. 

These announcers are such homers. “That shot would have brought down the house” (you are down 20 stop it) or “Stockard is the best shooter off the dribblenin the country” (What about Harris?) Take it easy Olean.

Yeah I saw that too about us being a dirty program and laughed. Such bs. They need to make something up to make themselves feel better that we are able to recruit better players. Hope we run them out of their gym.
