For reference ub's bartorvik ranking in the last 3 games is 299 (11/26/23 - 12/8/23) so moving in the right direction
-
I think in buffalo you can get the top 75 year in year out rankings but you need a coach that's willing to stay or really wants to build something
Toledo is a good example of this the coach has stayed and the program has really started to take off with their recruiting
I think UB has a good coach in George halcovage, just starting slower than many want and or expected
-
It was that first four or five minutes of the second half where butler decided to speed everything up and UB wasn't ready for it
In that time UB reverted back to one on one basketball where everyone tries to do everything themselves and they get lost with their defensive assignments (seems to happen as the players get tired, players don't move as much offensively and try/hope to pass guys off to other tired guys defensively)
-
Still like the progress, slowly coming together
Adams coming back will be a nice boost
Team has figured out a rotation, but where was kayne Jones in the second half. He should be playing more even if it means going small with 4 guards (especially with Adams out)

Sy and coach going at it?
-
What happened, no communication no talking, no working, just watching hoping someone makes a play one on one
Hell just saw all 5 guys avoid picking up the ball handler
-
UB needs to play at their steady methodical pace, going quick when the lane is actually there
-
Butler changed up their pace and it absolutely put ub in a blender
The speed up got UB to get back into their playground offense

Yeah and that’s fine for today but it’s a definite trend now. As a younger coach I would’ve hoped that was something of Jay Wright’s that he’d abandon but I guess we’re stuck with it
I haven't paid enough attention to it but 100 percent agree it should be something he gets away from

Halcovage’s 2 foul auto-bench is so bad
Most games I would agree, but his replacements for the first time all year were playing well (Williamson and mcviegh) and getting them some confidence will go a long way
-
The only let down was the last possession, need to get a basket there at the end
Gotta get a 3 to go down and this will be a game
-
Actually had a lead before the first TV timeout for a moment
The little things

I'll keep watching, one of these games it's going to all come together
Turnovers will be kept in check
Poor shooting stretches won't happen
Easy baskets defensively will be defended

The wins will start coming, I think they have figured out a rotation that will work. Need Adams back so that a couple of the players that need more time to develop on the bench and in practice can do so without the pressure of the games

First time all season in my opinion they actually made a couple runs, where they drove play and not because the other team was missing shots/making unnecessary mistakes
I'll make the prediction now, they beat western Kentucky next Saturday
Also in regards to less students today - it's Santa con in buffalo today imagine many students participated in that today in downtown
-
The past couple games give me hope they will win a few games coming up, I'm at least seeing the organization coming together
Also sabol had a poor game offensively (needs to get comfortable driving) but he has gotten a lot better at handling full court pressure and traps. Actually impressive the improvement
Strangely starting to like this team, didn't think that was possible a week or two ago haha
-
They gotta figure out some of the rotation issues, I think by now there are a couple guys that cannot be on the court at the same time together
Be very interested in seeing the points for & against for individual players if anyone knows where to find that
-
Western Michigan currently down 46-14 at home against st. Thomas early second half

The depth of the team is hurting them
-
This is the team I expected, you see them competing, you see them communicating, talking pointing things out. You see the structure forming
They're down 9 and might not get any closer but this is a game I don't mind out of a very young team

Looks like another player with the ability to shoot the ball well

looks like we were his first offer

Just a public service announcement, Massey continues to have some questionable game scores, they have JMU 82 UB 74...an 8 point loss to potentially a top 50 team would be an accomplishment.
Early season predictions are always all over the place, unless it's the top teams
UB's NCAA NET Rating: 360!
