I state my case again, that bad stretch but other than that it’s even
A bad stretch, but I imagine once that bad stretch happens the other team let's up, plays deep bench players etc

Well hopefully they start to put something together

I can deal with poor offensive performances they are all working in a new system. It’s the apparent lack of defense that gets me that’s effort and communication at its core pride. Iona at this moment is shooting 68%!!! Hope there is another comeback in them to make this respectable at the end.
This is what I don't get, I can handle the ok development and miss reads and other breakdowns that come with freshman and an entire new team
This team has zero structure. Zero. No offensive structure and no defensive structure. Looks like a bad intermural game at the triple gym
We went from a team that had talent/athletes with no structure to a team that looks devoid of both

Truthfully, I can't see how this isn't the worst team in the MAC this season.
It will be by far the worst team in the Mac, possible worst team in the country
*Barring the team all of a sudden developing insanely quick

Are we to the point we're guys will just leave the team when they get back from Thanksgiving?
-
Glad I'm not watching
On a side note how bad is Louisiana to have only beaten UB by 8

Back to being utterly depressing

Within 3 under 4 to play!

UB chipping away

How to watch other than FloHoops?
Idk, I'm just listening to it while working
-
Made their first two pointer near the under 4 time out
-
No baskets in over 10 minutes, wow
-
At least the first four minutes were much better

I think someone said it on here before but perhaps we should avoid hiring longtime assistants from big programs that have never experienced the unique challenges of being a head coach. Mo and Halcovage both fit that mold and seem to be learning on the job. Are we really a testing ground for first time head coaches? Why can't we steal and up and comer from a school in a smaller conference like the NEC?
I think halcovage is gonna be fine, where I think he is running into trouble is that he never got the upperclassmen that knew his style, knew how he he wants guys to practice etc.
He doesn't have that guy on the floor that knows exactly what he is looking for. The guys he is counting on for that are guys that came here/recruited here to play a completely different style. So it's gonna be a bit longer than usual
Now that I think of it maybe that guy was James Graham

Someone on the board mentioned that the bench looked like a funeral. That was funny, but it appeared true. Where is the energy coming from?
It should look like a funeral. Tough to look energetic when a minute into the game you're already down 10, and half way your down 20 and at half 33

Been very pessimistic about this current team but I do like the 3 freshman sabol/boldin/Wilson the minutes they got together tonight they seemed to have some chemistry. (The five of sabol/boldin/Wilson/Adams/Smith had some semblance of an offense and ball movement)
Should be 3 good building blocks for the future hopefully the culture being built will keep them here to see them reach their potential

The only coaches left are Senderoff (Kent), Groce (Akron), and Kowalczyk (UT).
But unfortunately those are the teams that can beat this team by that amount.
I thought boals first season as well, thinking about it that's a lot of turnover for a conference in 4 or 5 years

I’m genuinely scared of how bad we are going to be slaughtered by JMU. The way they’ve looked, they may hang 130+ on this UB team even if they put the foot on the brakes in the 2nd half
I'm worried the coaches that Nate oates beat by 30+ for a couple years in a row still remember and will take their turn doing right back to ub this season
There are a couple Mac teams that might beat this team by 50+

What did we do to deserve this?
If you figure it out please let me know

Might have something on offense with this 5- only time I've seen the ball move
Jay wright referenced the starting line up a few times, sounded like he was hinting that it was disciplinary
-
Just saw some actual ball movement on offense for the first time all game!
-
I'll generally be surprised if we don't see mid season players leaving the team likely as soon as they return from this tournament and the semester wraps up

I agree. Easy to knee jerk on this game but there's enough talent to win some in the MAC
5 minutes ago, skrabukes said:There is some talent there. There's no way they get 3 or less wins in the MAC, unless the veteran players completely check out/leave mid-season.
If this was one game but the defense has been an issue in every game (including the non d1 games) I'd believe
Over the weekend I watched a Cleveland St vs Eastern Michigan who is projected to be the worst of the Mac I believe and they looked like they would beat this team by 20+
Time to move on from Mark Alnutt?

From a basketball point of view, you need to see how the coach does a bit longer than four games to judge if alnutt hit a HR or missed
I don't follow closely other sports(non football and basketball)but aren't other sports doing well and have hired good coaches recently?
