The next 2 games will be huge for ub, 2-0 we can start talk of the 1 seed. 1-1 we are fighting for a bye, and 0-2 hoping to get to cleveland

It wouldn’t shock me if he came back in March. The announcers during our game against Toledo seemed to think his season wasn’t done.
When it happened and first announced they seemed to leave that door open
However I wouldn't take what those announcers were saying with any credibility. They didn't seem to know anything about either team or the mac in general.
Called mballa a junior a few times as well as calling graves a senior. And calling toledo one of the better teams when they are 4 and 8 was among the more noticeable

After having 2 straight turnovers, Jordan came back with 2 steals. Graves worked hard to get rebounds and put backs today, and was a huge part of the win despite some missed shots and free throws. Grant and a Johnson have finally turned the corner too I think. Mballa and Brock had very quiet games, but Hardnett played well. Segu broke a couple ankles tonight, I’d like to see him with more playing time. And Williams is turning into a monster. Good to hold onto a win 🤟🏽
Ive been wanting to see segu run the offense with the starters, kind of push Jordan into a defender role. Let Jordan pick his spots like he has the past few years but let segu do his thing. I think it would help this year as well as help develop segu

First half ub makes it to the championship in Cleveland, 2nd half ub doesnt even get to Cleveland
Solid win, like the last time lets up this is the start of a run

Why no segu in the last minute?

They have zero ability to play against a zone

Why has the crowd always seem so dis interested in the game? There has been a few big and no reaction. Its been this way all season. Is it just how it comes across on tv or is it that way in alumni as well?
When I was in school the team was boring and had less attendance but seemed louder than they are right now, did the students not pre game?!?!?!??!??!!!? It was a 9pm start haha

Gabe grant the zone killer!
-
Cant be scared to shoot against a 2-3 zone
-
Solid start. Liking the offense being run through segu while he is in
-
Sounds like a potentially solid addition
Any connections with segu? Seems recently a lot of recruits know him and he is from FL.

I’ve accepted the fact that this team just isn’t very good and isn’t clicking. We lost our best players and we currently have no leader. Patience is the name of the game. We have to trust that guys like Segu, Williams, Hardnett, and Nickelberry step up in a big way next year. Hopefully Skogman develops and we get productive minutes from him. And hopefully Gallion also develops into a productive guard.
Lots of potential on the team but Johnson, Grant, Jordan, and often times Graves have just been so inconsistent.
Im not giving up on Whitesell as he’s a guy whom the players enjoy playing for but I don’t think he has the team yet on what he wants to accomplish and play in the style of play he wants.
I can’t help but to think about 2015 and where we were after Hurley left. You never know if UB makes a run and turns it around. We will see.
Making a run is exactly what we did in 15, around this time of year too if I'm not mistaken
-
It seems everyone thought Jordan graves Johnson and Grant would be able to hold the ship steady. They have struggled too.
This teams future has always been with williams and segu, it also now includes mballa and hardnett as well as the in coming freshmen.
We desperately need a couple shooters. We are missing a Jeremy Harris

I'm worried, but I still will give him until the end of next year. Unless all of our young talent decides to transfer, then I am out on Whitesell.
If the players at the end of the year enter the transfer portal or do transfer. You have to make a change in my opinion. You gave a guy who was the number 2 a shot, it didn't work. I'll respect that but make the change if that occurs
This still reminds me of nate's second season here. Which to me was very frustrating. Granted this season is a bit more frustrating.
I'm staying optimistic and believe we will put it together. I see so much potential but the mind numbing mistakes are still being made and that is wearing me down

After looking at the poor outside shooting tonight will they be looking to the transfer portal for a guard who can shoot the three don't know what we are getting in Skogman and it is likely too much to expect a lot from Chanse and Josiah as freshman. Not only did this game make me less optimistic for this year...I am starting to be a little concerned about next.
With them not hiring a replacement for jenkins right now and seemingly not recruiting , I assumed that the remaining scholarships would be through the transfer portal

I think they will win this one, and keep us thinking and wondering if this team has a chance in Cleveland

Did we though? We blew a lead at home and lost..
What about this team makes people feel like consistencies are being ironed out and that we have a chance in Cleveland?
We’re a middle of the road MAC team that plays well every few games but lacks leadership and “it factor”. I just don’t see this turning out as another trip to the Tourney. Do we even win a home playoff game?
I can't really disagree with anything you say here.
But will say is this: we are a mid major team, mid majors win with seniors. We have played the top 2 upperclassmen laden teams back to back and came away 1 and 1. We are a young team that still has a shot at a top 4 seed.
Sometimes losing is the best way to learn how to win, after all that's why these kids are at ub to do, learn
-
This team is very similar to nates second year as head coach here, you see the talent, you can see they can beat and lose to anyone. Now they just need experience and to mature
This season is like every season in Mac play. Anyone can beat anyone.
Its not uncommon for the mac tournament winner to be a mid seed
Wasn't Kent state 4 years ago a 6 seed, weren't we like 4 or 5 the first couple times we went?
-
The loss hurt because we had it and let it slip away
But should take solace in the fact we are a young team that just showed it can beat the best the mac has to offer
Still a month away from March, time to iron out the inconsistencies the best they can and make a run in Cleveland
-
We don't match up as well with bowling green as we do with akron but ub can play with and beat anyone.
Lets continue to move up the standings

I think he’ll want playing time that he won’t get here next year either. Both of those players won’t get minutes with Hardnett/Skogman and Freeman/Robinson
i could see Brock playing closer to home, someone that knows him personally says he’ll grad transfer out there.
Could be 4 more scholarships to fill
I could definitely see brock transferring. But if his playing time continues to increase he may stay.
Personally id guess we will only see brock transfer, Fagan stuck around after oats and I dont see why he would leave now. As for nickelberry I think he sticks around as well. He reminds me of mcraes first year here. Kinda lost defensively/offensively and seems to pick up bad call fouls from refs.
Speaking of fagan wasn't there reports he was close to a return a few weeks ago?
-
I could see Fagan transferring because it just hasn't seemed to work out/bad luck here and he has had to have already graduated
Nickelberry just transferred in, he transferred out of Memphis into a junior college and then here. Unless he has hated it here or wants something ie playing time or being closer to home. This is the best spot for him in my opinion

This is the type of game a team can really build momentum and rally around each other. Hopefully this is the start of a run
