Coach Burke signed a multi year extension. He’s the first non revenue sport coach to get a multi year deal. He continues to produce. Volleyball looks like a good hire as well.
I'm thinking of women's hoops, Becky Burke since she just got extended. In any event, good thing she got locked in to a new deal. I'm sure some Big10 or ACC program was about to poach her away 🙄

Apparently ULL lost their very good senior QB against UAB. He suffered a lower leg injury and only played one series. A freshman QB came in from there. So they routed UAB by running like 40 times. UB can't really stop the run or the pass so not loving their chances even if he doesn't play this week.
-
Starting to think the better long term coach for UB would've been the runner-up for the job, Joe Harasymiak. At least he knows what a defense is.
-
The head coach is more talk than action from what i can see. He might be a decent position coach, i’m not even sure? but one of the worst things about Mo is the awful coaching staff he’s assembled, especially on D. and ironically it seems like several of the MAC teams have some solid D this season, The Bulls are the outlier. He should be fired just on that alone, hiring a staff that has no ability to coach the team up.
-
Terrible loss. Again, this program does not have a secondary and the D stinks. no one really performed well in a game like this.
Someone on the staff should be shown the door. I know it won’t happen. This program is middling FCS level now. In NY State they are probably similar level to FCS Albany and Fordham prob even below them. I’m not even sure they’d beat Stony Brook or Wagner at this point. A real embarrassing start to the season. UB has decent facilities and resources now, there’s no reason for this.

Do i get my hopes up for a reverse Fordham game?

I'm going the other way. Another high scoring loss. Liberty -2.5 plus over 54.5.
That’s looking like the play. Good thing Mo specializes in defense. I’d hate to see what the score would be if he wasn’t a defensive guru. Finally made a play
-
I might be lighting money on fire but i’m going to place a bet on UB +3. I refuse to believe Liberty is some powerhouse coming in here. To me it would be like beating CMU or Miami. That can be done and has been done, especially in a must win game. Go Bulls!

This is absolutely a winnable game. Liberty is decent, but not some great team this season. They've had better teams recently and probably would fit right in with the MAC this season. This is a MUST win for Mo and staff. Playing well is not good enough, it's a must-win.

We had several prospective recruits at the game yesterday. Wonder what they were thinking
I wouldn't even stick around for breakfast on Sunday morning,,, On to the next..

Liberty isn’t THAT good. Not as good as they were a few years ago. Beat Liberty Mo and i won’t forgive this loss but it will make your seat a little less hot. show that your club can step up and win games vs decent opponents.
-
Embarrassment. Coach is going to have to win a few games when they are predicted to lose, in order to make me feel better about his tenure here. This can’t happen. In your home opener. Again.

Bulls play like a mediocre FCS team way too often.

This one was a very odd situation. He played a great game at Maryland and then disappeared without much narrative. The family spoke out a bit and seemed to imply he was not treated well, maybe an injury thing? Anyway, he’s restarting at JUCO, so I hope he finds a good path.
That is a weird situation. I was at the Maryland game and agree, he was all over the place. I recall some solid hits and tight coverage and thinking we have a baller back there. I assumed he was going to transfer to a P5 program.
I don't like to speculate on this stuff...but I will anyway. I think his departure has more to do with Hudgens, than anything negative with the Bulls program.

What about Quian Williams? I saw something online that said he had an excellent pro day. But didn't see any numbers.

I would not drive to Highmark stadium for a random UB game. There's nothing special about it and the place would likely have 50,000 empty seats.
Now when the new Bills stadium gets built, that's a different story. Still the empty seats but it would be cool to see a game in a new, football only stadium with the NFL video board, etc..

Seems like Miller was in the "wrong place, wrong time" because he decided to make a bad decision and place himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I'm surprised Oats and Miller aren't on some type of administrative leave while this awful mess is being sorted out. Seems like that should be the minimum consequences at the moment.
The attorneys I'm sure are investigating text messages, phone calls, etc.. and they will see what the player and coach knew and talked about well before it came out.

Got himself hurt. so he will now be a cautionary tale for future portal players to never play a bowl game again 🙄
Maybe he can go to Wake Forest up the street since their QB is heading to Notre Dame 🤮
Why is he leaving Coastal Carolina? i thought he was a legend there.
Im ok with the portal guys opting out of Bowl games or if you’re someone like Bijan Robinson who is a sure fire 1st round pick and not in the CFB playoffs. But some of these players, like the UB guys who opted out to “prepare for the NFL draft” rubs me the wrong way. They will be lucky to play any pro football and they must not love the game that much.

I figured LL had some recent success in Bowl games so i put a small online wager on Kansas +2.5. I stopped watching at 38-23 late. Saw the score on my phone in OT and flipped it back on. Wow, what a crazy game. Too bad they didn’t win but hey you got me the cover Lance!

Watching Coastal Carolina vs ECU game on ESPN, announcers pointed out that Coastal has 2 players who are in the transfer portal but opted to play in the bowl game, including QB Grayson McCall. Honestly didn’t know that was an option. Every player has their own reasons to play or not, but I give these guys credit for at least finishing the season out with their current team. Maybe that will become more of the norm with the portal
I've seen that a few times this Bowl season. I think there are a couple guys on Wisconsin and Michigan too. They gave the big farewell and thank you post on Twitter, and said their final game would be the Bowl game. It's more the exception though.

Thats what I say. I dont care if its the "norm" but good ridance to anyone who bails like that on the team before a bowl game. Declare after the game!
Doesnt matter. Didn't need ANYONE who decided to leave.
Sad, but when it's all said and done...a several of those guys who don't latch on to greener pastures or who don't even sniff an NFL camp will be bummed out that they didn't participate in winning their college Bowl game. It's what you play for.

What a win! Great game. Bowl champs. Way to go MO, you had these guys ready to play.
The D played outstanding against a prolific offense, who needs those opt outs.

Bulls gotta get the first down. Punting probably means they have a chance for at least a walk off FG.

It's a bad situation. As noted in the other thread UB ranked is dead last, 133 in a publication that follows NCAA college football pretty closely. That's pretty much a guarantee that several decent players, especially on offense, will be in the portal faster than we can blink. I can see Nik McMillan taking his talents elsewhere. No one really wants to hang around the bottom team. Hopefully these players and coaches have enough pride and work ethic to get this somewhat pointed in the right direction when the MAC schedule starts.
