  1. Thought I should start this thread early so we can speculate the rest of the week. I don’t know how rider is this year but from my days as a Siena student, Rider is a scrappy team. I expect us to destroy them in the paint and come away with a blowout win.

Side note: wouldn’t it be great to have a bunch of us meet up at the game Saturday? Would love to meet some of you personally

Just looking at the schedule…our toughest game before the Bona game will be SFA (and so far their two wins are against high school teams). This could be a nice time to get on a run before the rivalry game. First home game on Saturday afternoon. Fans better show up.

I saw espn has us heavily favored in that game. I thought it would be closer, isn’t SFA pretty strong or am I wrong?

Quarles just said in the post game that Hardnett chipped a tooth playing so hard, more than the box score 18 minutes 3 blocks and good on the screens. He and Skogman played 18 mins and the 4 starters all played 34+, so coach said they are just trying to build up the bench. I am not hopeful, with how glacial Brew and Jones are coming along in dependability.

Jones is still a freshman and is not really out there to add a bunch of points. I’d let him develop his game a bit, he seems like he’s going to be a decent player. Brewton on the other hand to put it mildly is awful, just chucks up threes and is terrible defensively. He really needs to have a good game soon or I’m going to chant for Perry or Blocker to get some minutes

What was that Maceo? They had three looks at it too. You need your seniors to to better than 1-3 from FTs in the closing minutes.

Good on the team for coming back, I'll take that, from a troll.

We’ve been great from the line this season as well, maybe it was pressure? However these guys are D1 athletes and have probably faced situations like this before. Just need to work out the kinks and we will be fine

    things to think about

    1. This was the first game they have played with a large road crowd

    2. Hardnett didn't play

Could help explain the start and hardnett only improves this team

Bertram is way to slow, Skogman did well with Dickinson. Granted he’s 7’1 and one of the best centers in the country. Bertram I won’t mind playing limited minutes but they shouldn’t play him that heavily, I think having hardnett out didn’t help that

I’m just being sour. We were right there, within 5. Just disappointed in the “game plan” the last 8 minutes

I wonder if Williams was a bit tired and they stopped going to him or they thought he was heavily guarded. Anyway we hung tough with a NCAA tournament championship contender, if we can hang with Michigan we should be able to beat most mid major programs

  7. Also remember ladies and gentlemen this is Michigan we are playing, we are not going to be facing 7 footers and 5 ️ Players in the MAC or any other team we face this season. We will be fine, we have a ton of great players and they just need to settle down on offense and make adjustments during half. We are going to still have a great season mark my words

I think a big thing for us this season will be perimeter shooting. We can assert ourselves down low and on the boards but we have to shoot better. Teams will collapse their D against our bigs. Have to make them pay. Keep an eye on that all season.

Looking at the roster a person would assume we are a dangerous perimeter shooting team. Brewton and jack both led their previous teams in three point shooting and Segu has shown he can hit threes as well. Hopefully Brewton can show us the type of player he was at Coastal, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt being hurt last season. I think we will be better this year than last, we’re going to need it because teams are really going to target Williams and Mballa

Kid is a human highlight reel. Here's hoping he develops into UB's Ja Morant.

Looking at our roster going forward, we have some really athletic players. Blocker, Mading, hardnett, skogman and Ceaser all have hops. Hopefully we can land Prather and get him into the mix
