His ORtg was bad last year (79.5), but his 22% DR% would've put him top-150 among qualifiers last year (he didn't qualify). He took more 3s than 2s last year, maybe that will change given the bad results, but he is an interesting archetype in that he seems to be perimeter focused on offense but rebounds the hell out of the ball on defense. He may need some development but the fit makes sense to me if we are looking for Villanova lite types.

HC wants to develop a team over time, not looking to grab 1 years fill ins. They’ll be a fun team to watch this year but they’ll have their struggles. Like the approach he’s taking

HC seems “picky” in what types of players he wants. Hopefully he’s found some guys he’s interested in, would like a transfer commitment soon

Took a listen to anquan on instagram live. His friends are pushing him to come to UB it seems. He tried to deflect recruiting questions and just talk to his friend but he finally broke and said UB is his top choice at the moment. Also stated he has another visit planned, probably to eastern. Hopefully UB’s pitch and visit surpass his next

That said it is not unheard of for a new coach to have success with a couple of veterans and some FR contributors. I am not saying the Bulls have the next CJ / Nick combo, but who knows.

Coach is laying down a foundation with HS recruits, adding a lot of depth. The only hs commit I can see being game ready is Wilson at the moment. Would expect another hs recruit soon (boldin jr possibly) then some transfers or JUCO signees

Diovion Middleton-Famakinde. From the Bronx. Played a post grad year at Hargrave Military in Virginia this year. Played PSA Cardinals AAU on the EYBL circuit, so I imagine our staff has seen him for a couple years. Sidebar, I really hope we get involved with his AAU teammate Jayden Reid. Would be a star PG at the MAC level. 

Collecting strong-bodied wings and shooters so far. 

Was thinking the same thing about his teammate, is being pursued heavily by SMU. Tibbs is currently following him on twitter

great article written by the UB news on GH. Good portion on recruiting that basically summarizes that HC is “looking for the right players” that fit his scheme. 

Opinion: fully expect Isaiah Fields to commit during or after his visit. We are his only offer at the moment it seems. 
 

Sultan is following Pressuti and Tibbs as well as Zaakir and Kanye Jones. I’d expect him to commit in the following week or so. Thinking it’s Iona or us unless another school offers him. I was confident that UB would be a lock but Iona had a larger exodus of transfers and I’m not sure if they have any returning PF’s or one’s already committed. We have Zaakir, Chatman and Smith all battling for playing time at PF currently. Could be less playing time for him at UB unless HC can fit him into rotation or he is a stud.

Saw some Nova board saying that they’ve contacted him, yet to offer though. I’m seeing a pattern in the types of guys he’s going after. GH likes length and sharpshooters.

Iona has been getting a slew of commitments recently, not sure if there’s a ton of competition at the PF spot. I think having Zaakir on the team may help sway his decision, especially if they played or know each other well. I could see sultan playing at the SF position if we wanted a taller lineup, got a decent shot it seems.

He kind of got stuck behind a lot of our guards, especially Powell. Kanye looked pretty decent when he was out there

Seems like he'd be a nice addition. Hopefully Coach G's deep Philly connections are helping make quick inroads. Interest from Nova but never an offer, seems we're targeting their leftovers (which is great). Most of his P5 offers were two years ago as a rising junior so I assume they're no longer current. It might be between us and Iona.

Very much like the Kuluel Mading commitment. He was heavily touted out of HS and was being offered left and right by some big schools. He ended up committing to Howard but decommitted. After his decommit schools lost interest in him and Buffalo came and swooped him up. 
 

Sultan’s situation is different but mirrors what Kuluel went through. Hopefully Coach can land him, I believe Tibbs is the lead recruiter on him currently

I wish ceaser stayed, JW barely used him and when he did he was exciting to watch. From what it seems he left on pretty good terms and moved to a team closer to home, can’t hate that decision. Looking forward to keeping up with his time there, had a bit of a Segu type game in him. 
 

Wilson plays like Ceaser a bit but is more the size of a wing than PG. think we got two great but overlooked HS guys coming in
