I think the silence/lack of info on interviews is that UB has their coach already and he is probably still in the tournament
If you're hiring a "recruiter" based coach timing means less in my opinion, you can wait for the perfect time
With the tournament the timing of the announcement can be huge - you want to be in the news cycle.
For instance would it be better to announce hodgson or Cohen now or say when their team is potentially in Houston for the final 4?
It is strange no news on interviews has broke other than names to expect to be interviewed, unless I missed it
Im feeling the same way, we just haven’t had it publicly announced yet. Especially with Hodgson or Cohen. Imagine being a player in the tournament, getting ready for some of the biggest games of your life and hearing that the coach who brought you to the program is going to leave once the season ends. Teams and players don’t want the distraction. Yes, it happens that coaches announce their decisions during the season but just look at the state of Bama and Xavier. Bama is a championship contender and Xavier is a 3 seed trying to make a run. I could be 💯 wrong on my take but that’s what I think

The longer it takes it makes me feel that a coach we are looking at is currently coaching in the tournament. Hodgson and Cohen… even if not it’s a good sign that we are being thorough in the search

I know there is no right answer however, how long do coaching searches usually take for Bball? I’m assuming we won’t know the coach or candidates until after the tournament correct?

3 ⭐️ DB, had offers from Arizona State, Miami of Ohio (originally committed to) and Kent to name a few- 1

I’m still not sure who had last years best class.
(judged by which date?)
Believe last years class was finalized during the summer. Think our recruiting class was announced around the same time. Think we had best class overall, that includes transfers from other d1 programs

JUCO guys don’t count as transfers in the eyes of 247, they’re counted like HS commits. 247 gives stars to players throughout the year. I’d expect each player to be ranked fully by February. To judge the pedigree of the unranked or JUCO players I tend to look at offers
Also today has to be pure hell for the staff at 247 lol, so many players signing, transferring etc…

Curious if anyone knows when sites like 247 reset based on signings? Also, do they account for JUCO? I know usually they don’t include transfers but wasn’t sure. We previously were rated last in the MAC but that was with only 6 commits accounted for.

That OLman and Rainey from Miami Ohio would be steals!! Loving the recruits that we have brought in. Someone to look out for is Lamar Sperling, he absolutely crushed it this year.

4 turnovers to 2 assists as well. Rough all season
Very true, hopefully he can turn it around. Looks like he tries to do too much. He gets a lot of good looks but can’t finish

If Foster could add anything on a D1 level this would be UB's favor.
4 fouls, 4 turnovers, 3 points, 1-7 shooting
He makes some great passes but my god he’s been off

To be tied at 32 with 3:18 til the half is impressive. To be outscored 15-7 in the last 3:18 of the half is something else, don’t know if that was more WVU playing great or UB’s typical habit of not finishing out the half strong.
That Stevenson guy is going off, he’s hitting contested shots like crazy. Just happy UB is playing WVU tough

Jack is a bit raw but boy is he going to be a monster in the years to come!!

Looks a lot like Joe Girard, not just as a three point shooter but his mustache and goatee 😂

I believe we didn’t see Caeser play because foster is an upperclassman with experience. Whitesell knew Bona was going to play tough and wanted to play guys he knew wouldn’t be rattled by the pressure. Foster has been inconsistent offensively but is a pest on defense.

Anyone know Chatmans status? Appears to be somewhat healthy, no crutches, slings or walking boots. Was wondering if anyone knew what type of injury he has and an expected timeline for his return? Hopefully it’s nothing serious

Powell is the one "strong" guy on this team. Others when going inside make me nervous due to their lean-ness. Jack is close too, but the rest seem to get bounced around. I like this team though. Just wish for 10lbs more each!
Jack is going to be a monster. Kid is a bit raw but will shape into form

Adams is not good… I’m nervous every time he has the ball

If he scores 15 and plays hard all year, he'll absolutely be one of 60 players drafted next June. Way too much natural talent and the NBA has worked around far more challenging personalities.
I'd offer to put a wager on it, but the guy welched on my Skogman transfer bet so I'm wary. 😂
EMU looks scary on paper. I’m hoping Bates does well and gets drafted, it’s great for the MAC. It’s just hard for me to see scouts taking him as seriously since he is playing at a “lower level”. He might not even be there top scorer with Farrakhan there

Haha holy s*** that is crazy news. Returns not only to his home state, but hometown. The MAC should have a guy drafted in 3 straight years now.
My old nickname for Perk, "The Ypsilanti Goon," isn't as fun and carefree anymore with what Heath is putting together there.
Unless he averages 25+ he won’t get drafted, he’s known to be a locker room cancer. However it’s great to see talent like that in the MAC

I like that! I'm there with you, I have expectations for this team, but I'm probably projecting my hope onto these guys unfairly. I think we have good talent, now we need to figure out how they come together as a team.
His stats don’t jump out all that much but he still got D1 offers and was a Seton Hall player, tells me that he’s got to be pretty good. Seems to be a lot like Mading but a bit more polished

The RT does seem to suggest some connection. If so excellent sleuthing.
Didn't realize , but Chatman and Curtis Jones were HS teammates.
Looks like we need a wing. I could see Mading playing center this year. His wingspan is insane, only concern is his strength. Vick Hart I believe is a sg/sf so I wouldn’t be surprised if we are actively recruiting him

Seems like a pretty darn good recruiter, I know it’s Michigan but those names are impressive. I don’t expect us to grab any 4-5 stars but… Washington will have to have some great recruiting ties
