That is the question. It is a tall order.  I hope we will have a better idea in about 4-6 weeks.  I think it has been asked, but has Mballa stated definitively what he plans.  I know the presumption is he is moving on.

I’m liking the chances of Isaiah adams coming to UB but his recruitment has picked up recently. In the flip it does seem that the staff is out there actively recruiting, had some players visiting recently and Whitesell has been to Canada to see a few players. There’s thousands of players in the portal looking for a new home. All we can do is be patient at the moment

Could be a good pickup. Hopefully he likes what he sees here.

when it comes to guards, there might be a slight difference in quality of talent between d2 and d1. It’s  mainly seen in the overall size of players however. Also there are many d2 players who came out of HS with the talent to go d1 but they might have went to a small public school or were greatly overlooked by scouts. Had a kid at my HS who got PWO offers from UB and Syracuse but chose to go to D2 because he would start

Watched some late season B.C. games and remembered him because of him having ub as a potential school

What I saw was that he wasnt out of place in the ACC, very athletic reminded me of blocker. Honestly surprised he transferred from the limited viewings

I saw a BC fan talk about how he had a ton of potential. According to him, Jones looked really good at the beginning of the season but fell into a slump he couldn’t seem to get out of. Also was a pretty decent defender from what I’ve seen. Hopefully a change of scenery and playing in a mid major conference will aid his development

Rondo's Orlando little bro. Great pickup. We got guards!

Kanye is a really good player, I’m hoping people on here don’t put him down because his stats. Still really young and has ton of potential. Kind of like Blocker

This is an intriguing pickup for the mens team. Averaged about 10 minutes a game for BC last year, but his numbers are pretty bad.

Guy from BC said that he had ton of potential. Gotta remember that he was a true freshman in the ACC.

    commits to UB!!!!

Average 1.8 ppg as a freshman only playing around nine minutes a game. That might not seem impressive but he was playing in the ACC. I see this as a sneaky good pickup, since he is still young he will develop along with our younger players. Could be another Mballa type transfer but just with a guard

It appears that Isaiah Adams has been in contact with a few of UB’s players recently. Was just on instagram live with new commit Yazid Powell. Seems like a decent sign for things to come

To go along with this… just a few days ago his only UB follower was Coach Foley, now Hardnett, Mading, Jones and a team manager are following him. Was visiting at the same time as Powell I believe

The current roster with recruits will be a 10-12 win team at best.  Impact freshmen at mid-majors don't happen, or they would be in a Power 5 conference.

Unless the coaches can bring in 2-3 portal transfers from D1 programs, next year will be a complete rebuilding year.

Only huge impact freshman I’ve personally seen play was Jalen Pickett at Siena. Was their leading scorer freshman year. Was one of the reasons why that team won plenty of games

His 3 point shooting stats are dreadful. Glad we beat out Canisius.

He doesn’t take many at all, his midrange is really good however. In his highlight videos he has a pretty decent three point shot and good range. He would rather drive though

  10. My thoughts on Powell:

this could be a very underrated commitment for this staff. Powell has tremendous offensive skills, only thing that jumps out on the negative is his 3pt shooting. However, he doesn’t take a lot of them. His best skill set is his ability to drive to the basket. He isn’t afraid to put people on a poster and has a great layup package. His midrange shooting is very nice, his height helps a lot. In the defensive side he’s pretty stout, averages an impressive amount of steals.

held offers out of HS: Coastal Carolina, New Mexico State, Florida International and northern Illinois among many others

out of JUCO offers, and decommit from NI: Wichita State, Jacksonville, IUPUI, UMBC and Americas team (Saint Peters)

  11. So I talked with two of the players on the team about the Mcduffie transfer. Unfortunately they do not have a reason, they’re just as surprised as us. With Aapri, it was due to him being back in the depth chart. However one of my sources stated that Mo was extremely tough on him during the off-season, hoping he would step up into a leadership role. He said that Mcduffie seemed cool with it. Unfortunately and possibly, Mo might have set him off
