I contacted my representatives in the NYS Senate and Assembly today regarding the Athletic Department at UB. I specifically referenced the horrendous record of ADMA and his incompetence. Athletics continues to receive more institutional support compared to all MAC teams and the results in ADMA’s tenure have been downward trending in all major sports including football along and men’s and women’s basketball.

I hope they do nothing.  The government should stay out of operations of the public universities unless there is a need to control a major scandal.   Chris Christie got involved in the athletic department at Rutgers and messed it up by putting political flunkies in high positions.

You can just say "I know which scrub is getting hired tomorrow" instead of hyping it up

I was not hyping anything, as I had no information on who is being or when someone is about to be hired.  (Nor do I have any information before anybody is being fired or resigning.)  It was the last major assistant job still open.

  3. A number of announcements for the staff yesterday, including a defensive coordinator, from Miami Redhawks (he and Coach Lembo were at South Carolina together).  Coach Lembo kept the OL, TE and DB coaches as well as the recent hires of the OC and RB coaches.

The most important hire still to come is strength and conditioning coach.  They can make a huge difference.

The DL hire has inspired a "Fucking Pete" thread on the Ball State board. Maybe a bit of a rivalry while Lembo is here? Maybe I'll have to try the Olive Garden in Muncie, as Lembo highlighted that in the press conference I posted earlier in the thread. Looks to be the highest rated of the three Italian restaurants in Muncie.

Edit: Actually it appears that there's only two Italian restaurants in Muncie, as one is either an Applebee's or Ruby Tuesday's pretending to be an Italian restaurant on google. And this is of course counting Olive Garden as Italian.....

Thankful to live in New York City, where the only people who go to chain Italian restaurants are tourists in Times Square.  The rest of use the great selection in all parts of the city.

I'm not quite sure what is wrong with shaking hands and meeting those who buy tickets to your games and donate to the program. If that wasn't happening,  that would be a pretty big red flag in my opinion.  In the end, the coaches are people and someone that most of the ticket holders/donors would want to meet and talk with.

Also the Ball State game was football season ticket holder appreciation day.

I predict same thing as basketball coach. Because we have no “NIL” collective, it’ll take 5-6 offers to get someone in here.

It did not take 5-6 offers.  Do not believe everything you read.

As soon as I heard the Linguist news Alex Van Pelt came to mind. I have no idea how he would be in college. But he is available now.

Unless something has changed since 2006, he will be a very hard hire.  Turner Gill wanted him as an assistant.  They had to get waivers, because he never graduated PItt.  They got the waivers and then he went to the NFL, the Bills I think.

    Paul “Bear” Bryant at Alabama

What about Bryant at Kentucky?  What about Bryant at Texas A&M?

Something is seriously wrong with someone to leave $675,000 a year job

How far do you think that more than $675,000.00 goes in Tuscaloosa?

This mentality is what is a generational difference today between my generation and generations before me. You don’t leave a head coaching job where you are your own man for the assistant to the assistant co coordinator because it pays more there is more important things than money it’s ridiculous.

I have had three jobs in 40+ years.  One move was a "demotion". The next one was for a "promotion".  Although not the only reason, more money was a factor in both moves.

Insulting the intelligence of Community College transfers might not be the hottest idea since that seems to be the entirety of UB's potential talent pool

Grammar is a major issue for all recruits.  How many times have you seen a post that a person is thankful for their third offer from East Succotash State?  They only received one offer from that school. The first two offers were from other schools.
