You can just say "I know which scrub is getting hired tomorrow" instead of hyping it up
I was not hyping anything, as I had no information on who is being or when someone is about to be hired. (Nor do I have any information before anybody is being fired or resigning.) It was the last major assistant job still open.

Ryan Horton is that man, most recently at Georgia Tech, also stops at Tennessee, FIU, Temple and Elon.
He worked with Lew Carella who was at UB before Georgia Tech. Carella did a great job for UB.

A number of announcements for the staff yesterday, including a defensive coordinator, from Miami Redhawks (he and Coach Lembo were at South Carolina together). Coach Lembo kept the OL, TE and DB coaches as well as the recent hires of the OC and RB coaches.
The most important hire still to come is strength and conditioning coach. They can make a huge difference.

Watson just set the single game UB record over Dillard (previously 43)
The record was 44 by Mike Martinho. This is overall school record.

The DL hire has inspired a "Fucking Pete" thread on the Ball State board. Maybe a bit of a rivalry while Lembo is here? Maybe I'll have to try the Olive Garden in Muncie, as Lembo highlighted that in the press conference I posted earlier in the thread. Looks to be the highest rated of the three Italian restaurants in Muncie.
Edit: Actually it appears that there's only two Italian restaurants in Muncie, as one is either an Applebee's or Ruby Tuesday's pretending to be an Italian restaurant on google. And this is of course counting Olive Garden as Italian.....
Thankful to live in New York City, where the only people who go to chain Italian restaurants are tourists in Times Square. The rest of use the great selection in all parts of the city.

Kathy Hochul gave this school a great opportunity with AI today
Maybe we could use AI and make us go undefeated.

It’s going to take Pete Lembo three years to undo the damage Maurice Linquist created in three years here in my opinion.
Does he last three years before UB Horns Up is calling for him to be fired?

The coach is already reaching out to football alumni. He held a zoom session yesterday with alumni from the Dando era right up to the present participating.

I'm not quite sure what is wrong with shaking hands and meeting those who buy tickets to your games and donate to the program. If that wasn't happening, that would be a pretty big red flag in my opinion. In the end, the coaches are people and someone that most of the ticket holders/donors would want to meet and talk with.
Also the Ball State game was football season ticket holder appreciation day.

It also sets up more pipelines to 'Bama. While we can't compete with NIL. Your not good enough for starting at a P5 yet. But play here we got great connections at 'Bama were you can transfer too in a year or two.
This is ridiculous.

I predict same thing as basketball coach. Because we have no “NIL” collective, it’ll take 5-6 offers to get someone in here.
It did not take 5-6 offers. Do not believe everything you read.

As soon as I heard the Linguist news Alex Van Pelt came to mind. I have no idea how he would be in college. But he is available now.
Unless something has changed since 2006, he will be a very hard hire. Turner Gill wanted him as an assistant. They had to get waivers, because he never graduated PItt. They got the waivers and then he went to the NFL, the Bills I think.

What about Bryant at Kentucky? What about Bryant at Texas A&M?

How far do you think that more than $675,000.00 goes in Tuscaloosa?

You don’t leave a head coaching job where you are your own man for the assistant to the assistant co coordinator because it pays more there is more important things than money it’s ridiculous.
I have had three jobs in 40+ years. One move was a "demotion". The next one was for a "promotion". Although not the only reason, more money was a factor in both moves.

Did I read that correctly? He's the 2nd head coach to be plucked for an assistant position at Bama. I know it's Bama and SEC and all, but why would a HC willingly take an assistant job? Being fired is one thing, but stepping down to do that? I don't know if I could do it.

Insulting the intelligence of Community College transfers might not be the hottest idea since that seems to be the entirety of UB's potential talent pool
Grammar is a major issue for all recruits. How many times have you seen a post that a person is thankful for their third offer from East Succotash State? They only received one offer from that school. The first two offers were from other schools.

I hope they do nothing. The government should stay out of operations of the public universities unless there is a need to control a major scandal. Chris Christie got involved in the athletic department at Rutgers and messed it up by putting political flunkies in high positions.
