What I KNOW is the players wanted JW and only JW. I know that from talking to them about the process. The rest is only rumors but from what I’ve heard BH was less about how he left and more about his maturity while a coach here. I've never posted any details bc I don’t know if any of it is true.

BG about to knock off Toledo. So many uncharacteristic unforced errors by Toledo down the stretch. 71-63 with 1 minute left.

Boldin and Graham are out with an injury. Last mention I heard of Jones about one and half months ago, was he was dealing with personal issues and that the team was supportive. I think it is a strong possibility he is no longer with the team, but I don't know.
On the post game broadcast Whetzel mentioned Boldin would likely be back this weekend.

I don’t disagree. The donors need to go all in on NIL. Doesn’t matter who the coach is.
I don’t think Hurley and oats would be able to keep their players without nil. The game has changed so much in 12 months. Sure, you can say, people would have stepped up, etc if oats was here but they should have kept him until one of the Michigan jobs opens up. Bama doesn’t make a lot of sense. I firmly believe he will be coaching in Ann Arbor in two months.
we have zero shot at being competitive in football beyond one year yo-yos due to nil. I personally know of a running back that transferred to a power 5 that is offered 250k for next year. Thats life changing money imo.
Disagree. We’re not trying to beat Alabama for kids. We should be able to compete with Akron, Ball State and even Toledo.

How about Jeenathan Williams?
IMO no. Didn’t win anything while here that he played a part in, didn’t win Player of the Year. Really good and an All-Decade worthy type player. But not one of the best to ever do it, which is what the Wall of Fame is for. Again just my opinion.

Both seem to have modest funding targets. I could afford a few bucks. Just curious, are these donations tax deductible?
No. IRS clarified it earlier this year.

I've outlined the strategy. We aim to secure a successful coach for $500k, and if necessary, we can engage in fundraising for additional money. However, I suggest prioritizing funding for NIL, directing the funds towards charter flights, buy games, starters, and three reserves initially. We may not necessarily require the department, as we can theoretically determine the terms for the funds raised. In the first year, our target is $4.4 million, with the goal of reducing it to $3 million to maintain a steady flow. Can we get 440 people to donate $10k each?
Strategy is easy. Finding 40 people much less 440 to do that annually, oh yeah with no tax write off, would be insanely hard here.

$1,500-$2k for each starter? This isn’t 1975. Freeman and Ali Ali at Akron are getting $100k each (allegedly).

Hopefully it’s after the season 😂

So many free throw misses from upperclassmen. Horrendous.

It infuriates me this is even a competitive game. We should blow their doors off every year.

Can’t agree more. If Bills and NYS could have built in Amherst, Big 10 could have been a real possibility especially considering our rise in MBB, WBB and football until those runs ended. Now we are stuck in shit. Would have loved Danny White’s leadership to get that done although the reality is that most likely never happens. ADMA seems like a great human being, but appears to significantly lack the ability and stamina required to move us forward.
Big 10? That’s comical. The President and SUNY have zero interest in funding a $100+ million operation. We can’t even get a videoboard made in the last 30 years.

UB is 3-2 when we score 76+. 0-18 when we don’t.
UB is 3-2 when we attempt 20 or fewer shots from 3. 0-18 when we attempt 21+.
I think I see a couple of keys to possible future success the rest of the season.
Seemed like the coaches keyed on this as well. 3 pt shots way down today.

Rana with a triple double. 3rd in school history.

Ladies head and shoulders better than USM. Rough offense first half but defense held them to a lead. Second half poured it on.

I just want to convert short yardage plays every once in a while.

He’s a DB coach whose DB’s routinely got smoked. But ok. Good riddance.

Valid points, in this new area of portal access every year is potentially a rebuilding year. So if no one transfers the roster only loses the two grad students. Watson and Rana although both seniors both have an additional year of eligibility. As far as the intensity goes every coach building a competitive program is wired tight on the court. Off the court is where that counts and for Watson to follow her from USC Upstate to UB says something. The 24 class looks nice although I think the team needs another athletic 6'2+ post. As for when success comes its up to the AD and university to have built a strong relationship with the women's program to anchor her to UB. Having to fundraise 5k for massage therapy is not a good look why not give that women's program? Why can't we buy player jerseys? Alnutt should be doing these things now versus if/when another school comes trying to do something. Good problems to have!
Fair enough. But the teams do annual fundraising pushes so they pick something to rally around. Doesn’t mean they couldn’t afford it, but they need to pick something.

I’m excited about some of the young players BB has brought in and next year looks quality as well. No chance she sticks around when a bigger name and paycheck comes calling. Hope she earns it. Would Jacey step in?

Super dumb post yet again. 6,000 is fine. It doesn’t take much to get the place rocking. It’s an intimate setting, we just don’t try to fill it and of course the team hasn’t helped.

You paying that 4.5 year buyout? Sit down.

I think this is what some of us mean when talking about the MBB program. Last year all our coaches and recruits had bailed end of the year and we were not good. One year later and they’re competitive in every game and in line for a 4 seed.
