I've had a few people who know that I'm an alumni and interested make comment to me. For the most part though, there really isn't much college football talk period. More just NFL talk.

I can still remember the UB-Rutgers game from 2001 at UB stadium where Victor knocked the Scarlett Knight's head off. The whole crowd went nuts afterwards. UB ended up winning and was a crazy night for us freshman that had just moved in a few days prior. Who would have known that their 3-8 record would end up being their best season during my 4 years at UB. That game was probably my favorite football game I went to as a student. believe the video of Victor was used during orientation for a few years afterward.

I agree with dutchcountry7. I think it's more the fact that the Big 10 and MAC have the same footprints. I'm sure if you looked traditionally, the Michigans, Michigan States and Ohio States have regularly played the MAC schools in their state. I'm sure if you look at the conferences that UB have played the most since joining the MAC, the Big East/American would be the most played conference and the Big 10 would be the second. It just makes sense geographically to play those teams more often than your San Diego States etc.

I live in Rochester and unlikely to get to Buffalo any time soon. Same reason for downtown as going to campus.

I've been poking around online looking for a New Era 3930 (stretch fit) cap with the bull head logo on the front. I know if I drove to campus, I'm sure I'd find it. Between work & the activities my kids do, I don't see that happening any time soon. The shopubbulls.com site only has incredibly generic hats that you can't tell what they really are. I've checked the bookstore's website, campus tees, .Dick's, Lids, etc as well. Campus Tees has a white one that I can get shipped to myself and the other places have the right style hat but with the interlocking UB logo. Any other suggestions on where to look? It's a bummer that shopubbulls.com doesn't have a better site, I'd probably order a lot more gear. I know a few years back, they had a whole New Era section.

Yeah, I'm not paying $5 a month for what was free in the past (Although I just saw that they merged ESPN+ with ESPN Insider, so your $5 a month subscription also includes the insider articles on their website and ESPN The Magazine). I tend to be hit and miss with catching games on Saturdays anyways due to yard work, and family events & activities. I'll probably catch what I can on ESPN 3 or other networks and stream the radio broadcasts on the tuneIn app when I can't watch it.
