  1. Wow, Perk definitely making a case for himself with that effort. Seems they're figuring out that he can shoot the 3 too. Last game you could tell he was wanting the 3 from the top of the key coming off ball screens and they weren't looking for him. 2-4 today

Arkansas seems interested as well - I'm pretty sure they just watch our recruiting targets to develop their own at this point...

That tweet about Arkansas' interest also mentions the possibility that John doesn't sign anywhere this year and reclassifies to 2020...either way I'm not holding my breath on him coming here.

Lunardi released his early bracketology today and has Ball St winning the MAC. That is bold for a team that went 6-12 in the conference last year.

Laughable. I bet less than 1/4 of his initial mid-major auto picks actually make the tourney. Even that might be optimistic.

Not that my opinion matters, we are a great choice even with Oats departure.  Would be nice to wrap up the 2019-2020 team.

Technically, Oats' departure is the only reason we could be a choice at all now for Hardnett. Likely wouldn't have had an open scholarship otherwise. 😄 Seriously, can't say enough about the new staff bringing in the type of class they have so far, and yes this would wrap it up nicely.

Michigan is the only team on that list that scares me. Can’t blame him if he went there. That’s a step up from Cincy. Although I think Howard is trying to fill a roster and once the next recruiting cycle ramps up he would look to have similar success as Penny has in terms of recruiting. Meaning if Hardnett goes to Michigan, in a year or two he would be passed by incoming highly touted recruits. While if he comes here he’d be a fixture his whole career.

It's an interesting scenario for sure. Yeah he picked the big name school over us the first time, so he could easily do it again. But maybe he didn't love sitting out last year at Cincy and decides he'd rather take the (pretty much) guaranteed minutes here over possibly riding the pine again at Michigan?

As Bill mentioned, who knows what this means regarding Nigel John. Assuming Hardnett would be able to play immediately though, I'd be thrilled to get either of these guys to fill out our roster.

I think they see the writing in the wall. You almost never see it made public that a school has pulled a scholarship offer. Seems like a PR move to avoid having to explain to fans that Buffalo beat them out for a player they wanted!

I think that's likely the case. Another article posted today on that site simply says John is currently on a visit to "another school." The rest of that article is behind a "subscriber only" paywall so it's possible it goes on to identify us as the other school, but I thought that was funny.

I think he already went on a Pitt visit, he also visited Oklahoma State

Thanks, couldn't find anything about a visit to Pitt online, just that they offered him. The OK State visit was a month ago now so figuring/hoping they've moved on.

  8. Hopefully we seal the deal here. Does he have a visit scheduled with Pitt at this point? Seems like they are our only competition for him. And they already got Eric Hamilton who we were speculating about in another thread, so hopefully we can beat them out for John.

I've posted this before, but the wnba is a joke. even top picks aren't guranteed a contract. max salary is like $115k (after 6 yrs). Last year's top pick signed for $52k/yr.

This is why WNBA teams can't even be mad when their star players get injured playing overseas in the offseason. Happens every year.
