  1. Its a 19" Zenith Vacuum Tube w/ Chromacolor. I believe they got it on clearance at Montgomery Wards in the 70s. It originally was a console TV, but somebody smart was thinking ahead and extracted it from its wooden confines for the sole purpose of using it as our state of the art scoreboard we have today. Its a little known secret that if you show up late at night at UB Stadium, you can usually find people playing Pong on it. And if you do catch them there, you'll here them whispering about "upgrades" and something about an "Atari".

  2. For the MBB/WBB doubleheader security stopped me for trying to bring in sandwiches. Said outside food isn't allowed because we have concession stands, which may just be a policy that the guy made up because it's not listed on the website. Options at the concession stand are pizza, pretzels, Pizza Logs (which is an improvement!), hamburgers, hot dogs, and the normal candy/chips etc. No re-entry so you can't leave during the break and get something to eat. Not very accommodating for those that have dietary restrictions. The college kids next to us in the stands brought a full backpack and a bag of pretzels into the game. I guess I just got the guy that takes his job a little too seriously.

  3. What is the problem with shadows in a stadium? Shadows are great.

  4. When I go to a game I go to see a game. Being at a game live is different than watching it at home. I have never once nor will I ever decide to go to a game because of some side show that goes on during the game. If I want music I would go to a concert, a bar or a club where music is the attraction. The food offered for sale at a game is irrelevant as well as to whether I go to a game. If I eat at a game it is some sort of junk food, popcorn or a pretzel. As for when the conference games are played, they are Tuesday and Saturdays. The Friday conference games are for TV. The two Friday night games are on CBS Sports Network and ESPNU. Possibly a Saturday could get picked up for a national broadcast, and then TV will dictate game time. When I was at UB about 15 minutes before a game we would leave the dorms and walk over to Clark Hall and watch the game, regardless of game time. Did we cheer? Yes and without a "student section" The way to get better attendance for the on campus students is to black out the games in the dorms for streaming and on TV channels. If you want to see the game they would be forced to actually go to the game.
