Point taken. But still, the team is averaging 16.2 assists on 44 FG% this year compared to 16.9 assists on around 46% last year. The main issues I see are defense, FT shooting, and the lack a of closer (I miss CJ).

I agree with the lackadaisical play sometimes, but I actually think the team has not been playing that selfishly lately.

I'm also on this train of thought. I'm not going to freak out until the end of next year if the team doesn't improve. We lost so much talent (and a great coach) from last year that it doesn't make sense to expect a high level team. UVA went 35-3 (16-2) and won the NCAA tournament last year, they are currently 13-6 (5-4) and have the same coach they had last year. All teams go through up and downs, we are not immune to that.

Obviously it is really early, but based on the quote below I could see us running a bigger starting lineup next year. Segu-Graves-Williams-Hardnett-Mballa “We only had, really, two front-line players that could play. That is how it seemed when I was in college at UB too. I'm hoping the kids in Buffalo who are growing up watching the teams of the last few years will start to change that when they are college age.

I think Whitesell has done a good job recently of making halftime adjustments which is nice to see.

Hardnett has been a low key solid role player this year.

I'm going to be honest, I forgot about him.

We would have been screwed if he didn't get a waiver.

Also, when the refs call a lot of fouls it forces the players to play less aggressively which contributes to both of those things.

Hard to play defense when breathing on a player is a foul.

UB’s athletic department should put together highlights after each game. I’m sure they could get some student intern to do it.
