Just like the good old days. Great seeing them play again. Clark, Jordan, Carruthers, Bearden and Hamilton had strong games. I expect Massinburg and Perkins to play better tomorrow. We gotta continue to play our up tempo fast break style. Most teams can't keep up with our speed. Let's go!
-
Saw many of them are here but I see missing is Wes Clark and Justin Moss. Any word if they are here or expect to play this weekend?

Doesn’t it seem like they have too many players on the team? I expect only 8 will really get serious minutes so I wonder who will be on the bench. Also, wonder why no updates of them practicing. Anyone hear anything as far as practice?
-
Anyone hear how summer workouts have been going so far? Usually we hear a report about one of the new guys and how they are impressing. Anything?
-
Starting 5:
Moss
Hamilton
Massinburg
Wes Clark
Davonta Jordan
6th man - Perkins
Next off the bench - Harris, Carruthers, Bearden and Montel (in that order too)
-
I think this team needs Mitchell Watt. He played with Wes Clark on the same team in Italy. Should be easy to get him onboard. That would complete the roster perfectly.

This kid reminds me of Torian Graham. He has the same style of being a scorer and how he drives to the rim. Good get. He’ll be a starter after this year for sure.

I think there was probably an understanding between UB and Malik that we would stand by him but he won’t be able to come back with us again. I just have a feeling that this was the plan all along. He was probably asking for another chance and they met him half way saying sure but not with UB. Just a thought not sure if that’s how it went down but could have been.

How much playing time do you figure he gets? What kind of role on the team will he have? Will he put up 10pts a game?

I’m actually pleased with an O or D coordinator from a P5 program, especially the Big10 since it’s a similar recruiting area we predominately look at. I was concerned we were going to end up with a lower level coach or a band aid choice to stop the bleeding. I also like the mid-30’s energy guys to get our existing players excited and hopefully keep us at our level and improve upon it (MAC CHAMPIONSHIP anyone?)
He had barely 1 year experience as a D-coordinator in the Big10 and the rest (and numerous stops) he was a DB coach. We all sound like he was a 10 year D-Coordinator in the Big 10. Who cares if he's in his 30s, you can have energy and still be not good. Leipold was 56 and was good. I still have my concerns about either one of these picks.

I don't know. Anyone else feel like both these coaches are not that great? I feel like we can do better.

Bring back Turner Gill

Just want to let you guys know that I’m also declaring for the nba draft but at the same time retaining my eligibility for my current 9-5 job. I’m just testing the waters. Big thanks to all who helped me get to this point. Horns up.

Let’s go get Les Miles and call it a day.

Noticed how both UB and Kansas both play Coastal Carolina this season. Kansas at Coastal Carolina sept 11 and Coastal Carolina at Buffalo on sept 18. Would love to see UB dominate and Kansas lose.
-
Anyone know which players have potential to be drafted in 2022? I'm thinking Kevin Marks, Taylor Riggins and Kadofi Wright? Anyone else?
-
Not sure who advises these underclassmen to declare early like what happened with Tyree Jackson. Is it worth being an Undrafted free agent where another year they could pad their stats and improve their resume. I understand injury can be a concern but if you know you have a good team and can have a better season senior year, why not stay?

Lol. It could be.Very similar situations. But the sentiment remains...coaches can win and raise their profiles at UB.
You know why they can win and raise their profiles at UB more often then any other MAC school?? Because we are a P5 program stuck in the MAC. Simple as that.

Let’s look at the big picture once again, unless UB gets serious about athletics and makes the move to a bigger conference we will always be a stepping stone for coaches in football and basketball. I’m sick of this inevitable cycle every 4-5 years. Does the leadership of the school realize this turnover is not normal and discourages the fan base? Or do they not care and see athletics as a nice side benefit to offer and any success is just a bonus for them?

My 2 cents on the future (probably all that it's worth)...
Go big or go home. Use the buyout $ to get someone hungry. Even if it's for 3 years and they move on. The $ built on a football only fieldhouse and all of the other recent frills, needs to be parlayed into something high profile. While our infrastructure isn't SEC level, it's pretty good within our league and other comparable leagues. Make UBs hire stand out.
What is the buyout money for Lance moving on?

Anyone know his JUCO ranking? Good signing and hope we can add more talent to the roster. Go Bulls.

Need a reliable PG who can fit right in and get 15+ minutes off the bench. I think they should go to transfer portal for this one. This will be a veteran team next year and want someone w experience who can play big minutes if needed.
How about Howard Washington. He transferred from Syracuse to South Alabama last year but sat out. He has 2 years of eligibility left. Can play and can transfer again.
-
What about Zachery? Is he on the roster next year?

It’s kinda funny how we are all glued to the recruiting beat and there is absolutely nothing as far as commitments yet. Recruiting is key to a basketball program’s success long term and the silence so far should speak volumes. I guess it’s wait and see but the more time goes by and we don’t have anything the more concerned we should be if we are headed in the right direction.

Conference Realignment
in Buffalo Bulls Basketball
Posted
I think UB's stock is probably at it's highest level ever and we should be very attractive to C-USA or the American. Heck I think right now we are probably in the top half of the schools in each conference as far as success of our Football and Basketball programs. The key will be what's in it for UB and what kind of financial commitment along with return will the school get in the long term by making this jump? Shared revenues, bigger payouts for games and ultimately will our athletic budget be supported by the administration and alumni? Lot's to consider but the bottom line is if we were ever in a position to make that move now might be it based off all of our success in Football and Basketball that looks to not be slowing down anytime soon.
