I'm not following this team until the Fall. Speculation on the previous recruits was a waste of time since they all dropped. Who knows what the team will be in the fall. Why waste my energy now on them.

Well said. You saved me the typing. Add to this twice during a game BB points at a player and yells at the top of her lungs from 15 feet away to scold a player. There is a way to coach without being nasty. I guess the proof will be in the next 6 months. If we start to see other departures, then it couldn't have been the fault of the previous assistant coaches (as some conspiracy theories are trying to say).

First, grammar. Nice run-on sentence. Second, no chance in the world that Burke thought she could get better players. She was always claiming how great her new recruits were (as recently as March). Also, it appears the recruits wanted to get out of there NLI (for some reason) for awhile. If she wanted new players, she wouldn't have dragged out their release. More like, she could see she was losing them and had to recruit new players. Clearly the former coaches, players, recruits didn't like something so they left. I think the turmoil will continue. I'll wait for November to see what cards are on the table then.

Odd only having one year contracts. Odd that one of the coaches left with only a few weeks left in the season. Only common factor in all the coaches and players leaving is the coach. Several things rub me the wrong way with the coach. One being her yelling at least twice in a quiet arena at her players. She was in their face. Then, the whole Ball State hand-shake line incident which I blame on her saying something to Sallee. Just way too many issues going on to brush off. Wish I could decline my women's tickets in protest but they are included in the ticket package.

As critical as I usually am of Coach Burke, I understand her desire not to have her recruits decommit. So she wasn't releasing them. I don't blame her for that. I'm not sure why the parents feel UB wasn't thinking of the students. Of course they aren't. They are thinking of the school. Didn't Watson not get released when she transferred. I'm sure it's much more common (now) to have schools release players when they want it. But with 5 players wanting out, it's like putting your finger in the dike. The interesting question still is why. And why did all the assistant coaches leave.

Back in February, she was touting them at great. Given past history, have to figure they all left as they saw the ship sinking (e.g. coaches family). Even if that wasn't the case, you'd have to figure that bringing in 7 new guards would be an issue with getting playing time.

So, at the end of the season Coach Burke said that all would be better with next year's recruiting class. As we all expected, the story is repeating itself again this year. It sure is a bad sign when all the assistant coaches leave. You have to suspect that all those recruits those coaches brought in would decommit as they are now doing. I also see Ellis has officially entered the transfer portal as well. Why, again, should I be optimistic about the team this year?

All I can say is that I've never seen so many coaches and players leave the team during the season. How can a team that can't keep ANY of its coaches after one year be good.

Some might feel sorry for the coach for not having enough players on the bench at the end of the season, but it would come down to her ultimately on picking a roster and keeping it. Will she have the same problem again this year?

I would rather the coach spend his time now recruiting players. After that, he can work on marketing events. He's already done 2 meet and greets.

That should probably be done next fall. A quarter of the audience is graduating in a month. Also, UB is a "commuter" campus. Not many people "hang out" in the Student Union.
