After this Saturday we got Toledo on Tuesday then Kent on Friday. Followed by a solid chunk of time off leading into the first round of the MAC tourney that following Thursday. So we get through this stretch we will get some much needed days of to recover and prep.

I keep saying this…it’s not a matter of depth it’s how Whitesell uses them and when. He has to be strategic about his bench usage bc the bench doesn’t score. Therefore he can’t have a lineup of 80% bench players on the floor at the same time. He has to rotate which staters stay on the floor and when. And strategically time it around the official timeouts. And also based on time and game flow. Example: if we are up…use the bench. If we are trailing we can’t afford to fall further behind. As for Cleveland, naturally you will see a tightening of the bench but that’s for every team. Ohio has like 2 dudes that come off the bench. It’s almost March…we are who we are. But you gotta strategically use the bench.

Great closed to the half. We are dominating the paint both on rebounds and drives to the hole. NIU cooled off after a hot start. If we D up on their Williams, we should be fine in the 2nd half.

It’s cool when there is no one on it. But not cool when the players are running up and down the court. We gotta slow this Keishawn Williams kid down.

I think you are correct. It comes down to win percentage. As I was looking at remaining schedules Kent St has 3 games left. 2 easy ones then us. Based on all this, barring upsets across the conference and us winning out I think it’s safe to say we are locked into the 4/5 game and route.

Hopefully they can be a 7 or 8 seed. Give the top seeds a challenge.

To this point…blowout wins are nice but sometimes you this kinda of pressure packed win. Sure Williams had a rough second half but he kept his head and made the game winner. Our last few buckets of the game were rebound put backs…meaning the intensity and hustle was there. Big win

I feel bad for Hardnett…just got whistled for a foul that wasn’t a foul. Had happened twice to him this half.

We aren’t asking for the bench to come in and light it up. If we had that kinda bench we’d be a top 25 team. Not many teams in the country have benches like that. The bigger issue is Whitesell making wholesale changes. We can’t have 4/5 reserves on the floor at the same time. He has to find a way to change that. Keep in mind under Oats bench numbers were skewed bc Perkins came off the bench but was a basically a starter.

Ugh I really hate when Mballa shoots 3s. That was actually a nice end of clock play but run for the wrong shooter. Mballa shouldn’t be hunting 3s.
