  1. Embarrassing how we are getting dominated in the trenches by an FCS team lol
  2. Defense has been embarrassing. Defensive backs getting cooked, defensive line getting no pressure, Fordham is running at will. Hopefully our offense can outpace theirs or we make some halftime adjustments
  3. Looking polished on offense, need to continue to work on defense
  4. I totally agree and tbh those too negatives are mostly due to the athleticism/strength gap rather than skill from my eyes
  5. Call me crazy but I think this game has been encouraging for our season. We have fought hard, made plays and have given Wisconsin a good scare, with zero help from the refs at all. Most of Wisconsin’s production had come on the end of them simply being stronger, faster and more athletic that is a given coming from power 5 teams. Braelon Allen is literally the size of linebackers lol and we won’t see any team the rest of the schedule where we have such a size and strength mismatch. I think we can make some noise in the MAC this year
  6. Hopefully Dolac’s injury isn’t too serious, that would be a huge loss
  7. Refs screwing us again! Are we sure they aren’t Wisconsin fans?
  8. I’m honestly loving our offensive coordinator so far. Offense looks so much improved
  9. Horrible no call on the pass interference. With McNulty missing, that could sadly be a momentum shift
  10. Honestly I consider it a major success if we cover the point spread. Not that we are bad, Wisconsin is just a very good team and a much bigger test than the Maryland team we lost by 21 to last year.
  11. How do you guys think this season will go? Predictions on breakout players? Any predicted strengths or weaknesses? Potential upsets or loses? I figured it would be interesting to discuss this before the season starts. Personally I see us as having a pretty similar season to last year, getting in the 6-7 win range during the regular season and potentially winning a bowl game. Personally I think we are a bit outmatched against Wisconsin. The key is our out of conference play, Louisiana and Liberty will be good tests that are on a similar level. If we can win those 2 games and not pull a Holy Cross game against Fordham, we will have good momentum into conference play. I think our strength will be our run game, with a lot of returning production and a strong offensive line. I’m not a huge fan of Cole Snyder as a passer, and he doesn’t have a lot of proven weapons this year. I’m hoping Nik McMillan can breakout this year, as a fellow Monsignor Martin League kid. I really like our d-line and linebacker corps, but I am very nervous about how our defensive backs will hold up, although hopefully Fuqua has another great season. Overall, I see another step in the right direction for Coach Mo and hopefully we can win the MAC East and beat last season’s win total!
  12. Let’s be real, is anyone else worried about next years team? We desperately need some experience and skill in the backcourt. We pretty much lost most of our production from last year and have replaced it with unproven freshman with mostly unimpressive interest from other schools. I get we need to “build” the program but these kids will transfer the first time they succeed and we are gambling a lot on diamonds in the rough. I know you guys hate rentals, but we need some proven talent on this team.
  13. Probably wanted to go to a place where he would be “the guy”. Good opportunity for that at UTEP
  14. Per his Instagram, Zid Powell committed to UTEP
  15. Recruiting stars don’t mean anything, especially at the mid major level. Just look at our top 10 recruits of all time according to 247, the majority of them didn’t pan out at UB. How about Jason Preston, who averaged 2 points per game in high school and went on to get drafted in the NBA?
  16. Not surprising at all, best of luck to Curtis.
  17. I actually went to the same high school as Slaughter, he dominated the Monsignor Martin in Buffalo his senior season. Him transferring is definitely a move to get more playing time. I’m happy for him because he was definitely stuck as a back end of the bench guy at UB. Definitely a person who can tear up D2, D3 or become a rotation player at a low level D1
  18. Kuluel Mading just committed to Norfolk State
  19. I may have jumped the gun by assuming it’s a great hire, but I wouldn’t call it uninspiring. I know someone who knows Cage and he is a high energy, confident guy who is solid at recruiting and developing talent and is a good leader. Certainly better than anyone on Whitesell’s staff, and should be at least a decent assistant. There’s more to meet the eye than him coaching at Canisius, the person I know (who is involved in the basketball world) sees him doing well at UB
  20. To be honest I think UB fans were overrating Isaac Jack a little. Not a huge loss, I think Jo Smith was a better big man anyways even if he isn’t as strong
  21. I know I haven’t posted here before, but trust me it’s a good hire.
