Good for her. You're there to cheer on your team, not for a quiet night out. Scream, shout, stomp... My wife gets the stink eye from some around us at the football games because she has a rather large cowbell. How do we counter that? The couple next to us doesn't seem to mind it, so we bought them one too. If you want quiet, go to the opera.
IMO, keep making noise. The people bothered by it can go stand on the track or simply decide not to return the following game.
I don't mean to "gate keep" but if you're bothered by noise at sports arena, watch at home and let somebody else purchase your seats.
Oats made mention of this a few times but I want to give another shoutout to Perkins with his ability to stay in front of smaller guards last night. He has a tendency to get beat on the first step off dribble drives but last night he got low, stayed in great position and didn’t let fast players by him. This was a huge boost to our team defense!
To add to this, we were in the running to the end for a few quality big men that ended up committing to more well known schools. Checking in on where they are now:
Carlos Curry - has not played yet this season for Ole Miss
Laquill Hardnett - has not played yet this season for Cincinnati
Anthony Higgs - has not played yet this season for Illinois
These weren't cherry picked, they were just the three I recalled us going after last year. Meanwhile, Williams and Segu as true freshmen are averaging 10 minutes a piece on a loaded top 25 squad & contributing meaningful minutes. I know where I'd rather be.
He says it's a slump but it has to be something physical. I'm hoping it is just mental since that can be overcome. We can get through MAC teams with him not hitting shots but if we want another marquee win like Arizona we need him to be a threat from outside. If Harris from 2019 showed up against AZ last year, I don't think we win that game despite the ultimately 21 point win.
