  1. Are we confirmed that UB gets the 3 seed with a win on Friday? (Assuming an ohio win, 2 seed with an Ohio loss). Ohio has the 3 way tiebreak (with a win on friday) 2-1 record, UB 2-1 record, kent 1-3 record, but ohio grabs the head to head to jump over UB. Sound about right?
  2. Well we've got to hope for a Friday win to grab that first Benji for the men's team. It's going to be rowdy in there.
  3. Agreed on a lot of this. Ub is capable of beating them, but it surely wasn't in the cards tonight. Crowd was definitely better. Just is crazy that ub goes like 7 weeks with no students in the middle of the season. The band = + ; DJ = -
  4. I believe they were referring to Toledo.
  5. I believe they announced that they did theirs last year.
  6. The time out was just to get the subs in. Whitesell is nothing but class also.
  7. If they win Friday, then it's a whole new ballgame next week. If not, the good vibes of Feb are definitely looking at the pink end of a #2 pencil. It's one game. While some on here will likely comment that this always happens against the top teams, it's still only one game. Ohio lost to a lesser team tonight. Let's hope Boals gets canned then. In the end, just win the next one. That has to be the mindset the rest of the way.
  8. Disappointing game. Started off with the nice 3 and then went downhill from there. UB didn't play poorly, toledo just played better today. Need to bounce back and win Friday and then there's a chance. If not, it's extremely tough sledding. Regroup, beat kent, face a lesser opponent in round 1, a reeling ohio team in round 2 and then it comes down to one game. Such an errie situation, so similar to last years 9 out of 10 wins, with the only loss to this toledo squad at home. Other than shooting %, stats were relatively equal tonight, they just hit em.
  9. I'd happily take that. Obviously would prefer 1, but winning both games is all UB can do on their own. One at a time, win senior night!
  10. The top 25 year, the team lost a ton on scoring as well in Cj, nick, dontay, harris and mccrae. It returned Jordan, Graves, 2 freshmen who played minimally but were highly touted in Segu, Williams, Brock, Fagan. Also had Antwain Johnson and Grant, both of whom became fodder for several on this board, especially the one. They had 0 recruits after the exodus of the head coach and several other staff members. This team returns Skogman, Jones, Hardnett, Perry, unprovens in Mading, Williamson, Blocker and a signee point guard that looks promising. The sky isn't falling completely. The team will likely take a step (or more) back, but so did from the top 25 team. This current group has won 20+ each year (with 1+ more wins this year), after massive losses 3 years ago. Wait and see what happens, and enjoy THIS team. They are a good one, a veteran one, and one deserving of a full house on Tuesday and fans in Cleveland.
  11. Unfortunately, they'll probably blow it, just like they did the other day vs Toledo.
  12. It all goes into the pot, although I believe there are bonuses sometimes towards groups on giving day. BrooklynBull is a better resource when it comes to that.
  13. First $100 locked in with today's win from the women's team. The men have 2 chances to get to 20 wins next week (even with 2 games cancelled or already would likely be there). Still time to jump aboard!
  14. I'll be satisfied plenty if just UB wins out! There's not a crazy difference between 1, 2, 3 seeds as you get a non top-5 in round one and then have to (most likely) beat two from the top-5 tier. If it happens, I'd take it though!
  15. Hopefully you're back for tomorrow, instead of me having a foot rest. Need your noise out there!
  16. Only 5 home games also. No superpower teams this year either. Should be a year for lots of wins, hopefully. Lots of roster turnover, but a true off season unlike last year. No excuses for < 8 wins this year.
  17. Who's ready for UB-Niu 2? Only two chances left to watch these guys at home again. 4 x 1000 point scorers on one squad is something different and special. Hopefully a decent crowd and another win to add to the streak. As evidenced by last night, UB is the better squad and just needs to keep the hot shooting down in order to come out on top. A rare home and home and 3rd game of the week. Can't wait to be there!
  18. I'm happy to debate UB bball with anyone. No reason to block anyone as long as they're not being disrespectful. Negative is one thing, but people can see things in the manner they choose. I just choose to see 70%+ win % in MAC over 3 years. How many other teams have that, and can match UBs last 10 years in MAC play, men or women?
  19. Gloating is not the goal, however I'm pleased by the product on the floor, and have been for a long time. They, along with the women's team have been entertaining game over game, season-long for 10 years (and longer than that, with lessened quality of play at times). As far as "Oats recruits", there are only 2 on the team that play minutes. Yes, 2 top end ones, but only 3 out of the whole squad. (My bad 4, forgot Fagan as well)
  20. And none of us know all of the goings-on of the team during that time, with the illness, cancellations, changed games, etc. It was a cluster for a 6 week period. The team is healthy and playing as we hoped, at the biggest time of the year. They've been enjoyable to watch.
  21. For as "bad as this staff is", they are 35-13 over their 3 years to date (.729 win %).
  22. For the coveted 3 seed (or better).
  23. Always the bearer of the dulldrums. Also have NIU as well (and should've had CMU). Regardless, if they win 1 more of the next 2, it puts them in top 3 in seasonal wins (18 games). Team is 12-4. Smile man.
  24. This team is 12-4, 3rd highest mac percentage in 20+ years. Only higher ones were the super team. Not bad
