  1. https://www.rotowire.com/cbasketball/player.php?id=11581 Production this past season impacted by COVID protocols and a foot injury. Hopefully he is fully recovered and ready for a great season.

  2. I covered Jaylen Butz in high school when I was a sports anchor in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a very good player at that level, guiding North Side to a state runner-up with his star teammate, Kentucky wing Keion Brooks Jr. Buffalo could use a guy like him. He's a solid forward that's a decent defender and rebounder. He's a limited scorer but good down low. He'd project around 10-13 points per game and 6-8 rebounds per game in the MAC imo Was a solid player at DePaul but didn't see the court much at Western Kentucky.

  3. These “kids” are no younger than many professional athletes in the NHL, MLB, professional rugby, etc. who are under contract. There are penalties for leaving those organizations while under contract. NCAA D1 basketball isn’t that removed from pro sports, especially now that NCAA has allowed athletes (I’ve mothballed the term “student-athlete”) to cash in on their “name, image and likeness”. I’m in favor of some control over college “unrestricted free agency”.

  4. You can have all the 4/5 star recruits but if a coach can’t get them to play some kind of team mentality it will be tough to win at a high level as evidenced as to what happened at Alabama last year. As far as Sears, yes he was a very good player in the MAC but when he came up against the better quick and athletic players he struggled. The SEC has more of those type players so it will be interesting how he will fit in.
