  1. Their two best players, both front court players, are out with injuries. We should win easily if they don't return in time for our game. But is they do, the game will be much more difficult than their net ranking would suggest.
  2. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings
  3. Some interesting tidbits from the voters. We moved from 240 to 351 pts in the poll. Graham Couch of the Lansing Journal moved UB up from #7 to #6 this week, which is the highest of any voter. Dicky V has us at 19. Elton Alexander of the Cleveland Plain Dealer has us at 14 along with another voter. There are a lot of votes for UB in the 16-19 slot. There are still 10 of the 65 AP voters that don't have UB in their top 25, which is down from about 15 last week. I attribute that to the high-major bias or anti mid-major bias. The voters who left UB out are Jeff Call Salt Lake City Deseret News, Kevin Weinman 1057 The Fan Baltimore, Josh Vitale Montgomery Advertiser, John Bednarowski Marietta Daily Journal, Jesse Newell Kansas City Inquirer, Matt McCoy WTVN radio Columbus, Ohi-aaaa, Richard Croome The Eagle Bryan, Texas, Scott wolf LA Daily News and Brian Holland WVLA-TV Baton Rouge, LA. Keep winning and we'll stay in and move up. Lose and we'll drop like a hot potato. Big games coming up against Milwaukee and San Francisco/Stephen F. Austin. San Fran is 6-0. I don't know a thing about any of those teams. Lastly, this is FUN. Let's enjoy and appreciate the ride.
  4. More fan noise and involvement comes with building a consistent winner and a tradition. Until recently there was no such thing at UB.
  5. With Dillard, they will be an attractive at large team. She's getting a ton of hype with WNBA teams scouting her.
  6. It also helps when turn on espn and see UB’s scores scroll on the bottom line and see their high lights there as well. I also give Nate credit. I cannot tell you the number of people and non UB fans have told me what a great guy he is through personal contact or through friends who have had that contact. WNY folks are abuzz about Nate. That helps a ton.
  7. Rothstein has us at 19. He also had asu leap frogging us from no rank to 14. Kind of a joke if you ask me I wouldn’t be surprised with anything 18-22.
  8. Announced attendance at 4,500+. That’s pretty darn good without students on campus and playing a middling MAAC team. The community is starting to buy in. Good to see.
  9. Looked like they played down to the competition today. CJ was great! This seasons revelation has been Graves. He still brings great D, rebounding and team play but now is a legit scoring threat. His shot now has a north/south rotation rather than an east/west. Accordingly his 3 pt shooting is vastly improved. Harris still struggling. Williams I’m a little disappointed in. Standing around rather than attacking boards and seems disinterested when he’s not making his shots.
  10. Jonah Bronstein reporting that CJ is dressed, warmed up and “may” play today. Excellent news!!
  11. I like it when I hear the other teams strength are their guards. I like the match up. Two bull dogs on D in Carruthers and Jordan. Let’s goooo!
  12. What kind of scouting report do we have on the Red Foxes?
  13. Here’s something that we can all be thankful for(fingers crossed); Paul Peck tweeted earlier today that CJ is expected to play in Ireland contrary to the TBN report.
  14. All my bulls’ fans friends! As fans of UB athletics we have much to be thankful for. I’ll start with Nate Oats. A true gentleman, great family man and tremendous person. That is just one of many. Feel free to single out someone you’re thankful for. And my very best to each of you for a wonderful thanksgiving with family and friends.
  15. According to TBN he has a grade 1 sprain of his MCL. They further write that CJ will miss the next 3 games. https://buffalonews.com/2018/11/21/no-c-j-massinburg-no-problem-for-no-22-ub-basketball-in-a-rout-of-dartmouth/
  16. O expect the defense to be all over them. I think the team rises up in support of CJ. Think Perkins has a big night tonight.
  17. Info I received from people who know.
  18. I’m not sure if it’s simply a precautionary measure or if he could miss more time than tonight. It’s a knee issue. Let’s hope it isn’t anything serious.
  19. Going to the big dance at a minimum every two out of five years while being in the mix the other three.
  20. Dillard is likely the best player to Don a UB Jersey in UB hoop history. She was just named to the Wade National To 35 Player of the Year list. I cannot think of anyone who has been so highly regarded. http://www.ubbulls.com/sports/wbkb/2018-19/releases/20181120guzq2l
  21. As good as Javon was no comparison to what CJ has accomplished. Hurley unfortunately didn’t do any coaching in the MAC quarterfinal as EMU was triple teaming Javon every time he got the ball. Consequently Javon kept forcing it and shot something like 1-12 from the field which along with Evans 0 for the game sunk what many thought would be the first UB team to dance. Meanwhile no comparison to CJ’s impact on the program with a two time NCAA team and a top 25 national ranking.
  22. Love that picture. I would have to think they could add seats of some nature to fill in the gaps on both ends. Filling those seats and the rest of AA would make for a great college basketball atmosphere. Of course we need to continue recruiting and playing at a championship level.
  23. Turner Batter? Auto correct is a b$&@h. I think Hurley gets a ton of credit for recognizing Oats and bringing him to Buffalo.
  24. Me too naturally. But I remain disappointed in their lack of resolve when they got down. Another chance Friday. Go get 'em!
  25. Bona's atmosphere is great. It is also a bit contrived. They pack the place. The students are on top of the court especially at either basket. The ceiling is as low as you'll ever find one in major college hoops. On top of that they close the doors leading to the gym during the game, which means the sound is literally bouncing off the walls and ceiling with little place to go.
