Anybody know what the freshman scoring record is? I looked a few days ago at the record book, and the highest first year total in the 1k point scorers was Loesing (370). Regardless, barring injury Fair is going to break that record.

Not at all to discount Fair's play and rebounding which was impressive, but it is mighty easy to pick up defensive rebounds when the opposing team is airballing shots all game

I would much rather have a Gonzaga situation than an Ball State/Ohio situation. If we are winning enough, add more seats, play marquee games at KBC if you can pull a HUGE crowd, but Alumni Arena as a basketball venue is fine without say doubling seating. Then why would he try to still get the UB job after that? Unless Hodgson said something along the lines of "Give me the job or else I'm going to Tuscaloosa" (which would warrant that response from Alnutt) I can't see Alnutt saying that out of the blue since we retained two assistants and the now DOBO.

Completely agree. I think the unanimous 6th place in the preseason poll is only going to add fuel to the fire. I think they're likely to host a first round game, could push for a bye.

If we're going that route a lot of teams playing Bona this season will be "paying" their recruits.

CCSU's coaches were calling out their players to cover her all game, which is wonderful 🙄. Last thing we need is opposing teams learn that we have an all star.

Potato Bowl vs SDSU seems like bad/lazy research as well. It's not impossible (see Michigan and Florida) but I would think they would try to avoid stuff like that.

My thoughts on the game: It was really weird not hearing "assistant coach Cherie Cordoba" after so many years. Walters has improved tenfold. She was a rebound away from a double-double tonight. Don't know why Finess Dickson and Summer Hemphill didn't play. I sat in the 200's so I didn't have a great view, but I think I saw Summer not in uniform but don't think I saw Finess. Schiffer looked a little discouraged after not hitting her first few shots, but then hit three 3's. Guard minutes will be hard to get, but she could play a decent role this year. 27 turnovers and 21 steals! I heard Coach Jack yelling "I want a steal! Get me a steal!" on a couple plays. And finally Dyaisha Fair is 100% as advertised. After having Dillard here, I should not be surprised that we got somebody of this caliber, but here we are. Could be one of the biggest impact freshmen we've had since (soon to be Dr.) Loesing. Also small pet peeve, the "enhanced statistics" on the new UB website is broken

Toledo WBB also had a close (exhibition) game against a D2 Ohio school. They used to be towards the top of the MAC.

They showed up, but all but the first few rows of True Blue (and the band) sit down. I'd rather have them stand than sit, but sit rather than stay home.

I would argue student turnout has been mostly decent the past 5 years or so. Even going back to 11-12, there were decent games (Stainbrook, Watt court storm). My hope going forward is filled student section for each game and hopefully more than a dozen or two for WBB.
