  1. I think he is saying it wasn’t his first choice but the best choice after the preferred choices said they weren’t interested in Buffalo. Jim had the support of the players and put a good team together on short notice when the old staff tried to destroy the program on their way out the door.
  2. Why is this posted here? who cares? If you want to talk about them go visit the Alabama board.
  3. This is the reality. Sagarin had UB as a 75% chance of winning. That is pretty comfortable. Of course we know things happen but this should Have been a UB win. And I am sure if you talk to the players or coaches they feel it should have been a win too.
  4. What metrics are you using? The ones after the NIT where they lost at home or the ones on selection Sunday? I seem to recall them projected to be in the field by a lot of rankings. I only remember because I was happily surprised when they didn't get in since I wanted us to get all of the media attention. And it worked. We got all the press when they were left out. I just went and looked up the Dance Card which has projected the field based on historic criteria. They projected them to make the field. https://www.unf.edu/~jcoleman/dance2016.htm As I have said, I consider the two programs to be pretty equal. The head-to-head is the ultimate way to decide, in my opinion and we now have a two game win streak. In addition we don't have any little Catholic school losses this year like they do. With that said, I have no doubt that it is harder to win a conference with VCU, Dayton, Davidson, Rhode Island, and Saint Louis than it is with Akron, Kent State, Bowling Green and Ohio. And frankly, I would rather have some more losses if it meant getting home games against at-large tournament teams.
  5. Ha ha this one made me chuckle. You know we would ridicule them for all-time if they ever left the A10 for the MAAC.
  6. This is a good problem to have. But I don’t see the admin doing anything about a problem that happens once a year.
  7. Aren’t they really bad at every sport that isn’t basketball?
  8. This is what head your head games are for. Settle it on the court and the winning team has the bragging rights. Bulls have won two in a row!
  9. I hate that metric. Doesn’t Texas Southern have Four in five years?
  10. The women have done well but no one cares to compare women unless it is convenient. Hosting Dayton was the biggest game this year and it only had 1,200 people show up. This would be like comparing softball team.
  11. Our Bulls have only been better than Bonas in the very short term. I am not sure you could say any UB alumni exist where the Bulls were better all four years they were on campus. We only have a two year win streak and many of our NCAa bids we were not ranked highly and wouldn’t have even made the NIT if we didn’t win the conference tournament. But the future looks like winning is going to be the norm and we are beholding a foundation. They still have more fans and a better conference but on the court we are now becoming peers. maybe someday Bonas will talk about “Selling out the [new Aud] for UB games”.
  12. I disagree. Now I am not saying move to the A10 because I don’t want to be like UMass with football (and I don’t know if the A10 would want us) but the A10 is significantly better than the MAC. The A10 always gets multiple bids. Last year was a down year for them and it was an up year for the MAC. That’s why we looked comparable. Move last year’s UB team out of the MAC and compare it to the A10 and there is no comparison. That’s the problem with your comparison of the conferences. UB can’t play themselves in conference so you have to compare the conferences without UB. Add UB to the A10 last year and the A10 is even better. There is no comparison. There isn’t one MAC team in the KenPom top-100. There are 7 teams in the A10 in the top-100. And for those that don’t like KenPom and try to say NET is better because it ranks MAC teams higher early in the year... there is only one MAC school in the top-80 but there are five A10 schools.
  13. That was a great game an atmosphere. It would be great if we could have more games like that. The visitors fans and having a team come in with real talent was such a nice change. If we had a few more games like that every year we would be retaining a lot more fans. But I suppose that is the difference between the A10 and the MAC. They will be a middling A10 team and we will be at the top of the MAC so at the end of the year we will have even more bragging rights but I can’t help be envious of them getting more games like last nights.
  14. Well I went and checked KenPom to see how much we moved up. We didnt. We remain ranked behind St Bona. Must be the home court advantage or something weighted it so it didn’t help us.
  15. That was a huge win! That looks like a team that can win the MAC.
  16. Well they nearly collapsed at the end but did just enough to survive.
  17. Now the team is playing! Also I thought Bonas was suppose to have a great big man. What happened there? We look better in the paint.
  18. How is this possible when they have all underclassmen?
  19. Wasn’t the Aud only like 10k capacity when they would sell it out for double headers?
  20. Can we stop dedicating this threat to talk about Bonas? I really want to see Alumni packed with fans in blue and to bring a sweep of the Big Four. Is it realistic to expect AA to be a UB filled crowd? I want to believe so given all the success the last few years but I can’t help but feel like I am setting myself up to be let down.
  21. No one cares about the locker rooms. But that stream was bad!
