  1. Thank you for all this info! I have definitely watched more Top 25 games this year just because that is the company of the Bulls. Crazy to think! Also, Andy Katz did his Power 36. Has Buffalo as 11th https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2018-12-03/college-basketball-gonzaga-virginia-michigan-top-power-36
  2. They better against Le Moyne. I can see limited minutes against Bonnies. At the same time, I said the same about Marist and the kid was full speed.
  3. I am not sure that games against SIU, Murray State, etc that you have mentioned would really get the public and students excited. They still don't know those programs (students and general public alike) Students don't even know what conference we are in. Playing Power 5's away helps. Here is a general conversation I have had with people that know nothing about Buffalo men's basketball: Me: "You watching the game tonight?" Person: "I don't know. Who are they playing?" Me: "Syracuse!" Person: "Really? I didn't think Buffalo plays Syracuse. Cuse will probably crush them." Games against high mid majors doesn't necessarily help us from public/student attendance angle. (In my opinion)
  4. I believe yesterday (Sunday) in the morning to Toronto. Probably back at around noon.
  5. I wouldn't for now. Let me say that I am no expert. I would rather have the sub-300 games at home to be used as a buffer for bigger games on the schedule. As the program builds, I would be more open for a home/home game with top 100 programs. At our stage, programs like us need those big road wins against the Power 5's. If we win against Vermont or Furman (road and home), I don't see us ranked nor do I see us at a potential for an at large bid. I guess it is more a high risk/high reward (playing Power 5 at their turf) or medium risk/low reward (playing home/home).
  6. Brant Wilkerson has us at 16 https://www.greensboro.com/sports/accxtra/brant-s-ballot-ap-top-rankings-for-dec/article_c5cfcf9d-f6ac-5ef6-bb88-7d5c610e8de3.html Zach Osterman has us at 18
  7. I am thinking that we hit the 19 spot. We lucked out that West Virginia was ranked when we played them. We are riding that to death right now! I am more nervous about Bonaventure than Syracuse at this point.
  8. Nice article! It is exciting to see Perkins and Harris back. It almost seemed as if San Francisco was the real deal also. They never gave up. I can see them pulling off an upset or two in their conference. We still have not seen this Buffalo team at it's full potential which is exciting! Let's hope it comes out Olean. You plan on making a trip to the game? On a side note, I saw what Bona fans were doing to you on their forum. Complete disrespect apart from a few guys (especially when you were stating you were wrong). I hope you didn't let that get to you.
  9. Welcome to the board and thank you for stopping by! Congratulations on the success of your season so far! You looked good against SFA.
  10. San Francisco went on a late run against SFA to seal it. It seems they play a similar game to us with uptempo guard play. This game scares me a little bit. SFU plays some Top 25 teams multiple times in a year. Our ranking shouldn't phase them. I think it will come down to our guard play vs there guard play. SFA tried putting pressure on the guards but it backfired.
  11. It just seemed as if we were toying with them. Crazy to believe that we were as close as 4 points with around 10 minutes left. Happy to see Harris is getting his shot and step back.
  12. Good game against Canisius last night. Looks like you are finding the footing. Rather your team be really good when we play you than really bad. I wish you coming success for the next weeks and months... except on December 8th! Hoping for a good game!
  13. Okay. Feel free to let me know and I would be happy to grab something and send it over. I am located in Buffalo and happy to do it. I travel to NYC sometimes and get extremely excited seeing people wearing UB gear. Happy to build the brand.
  14. NIU is like two sides of a coin. If the good NIU shows up (Akron, Ohio) we might be in for a long game (especially if the Bulls Defense from Ohio shows up). Although the NIU defense is good, I do not see them holding back our offense. We have way too many weapons. Our OL will definitely be tested. In the dome, Tyree will be able to launch it. I think the key is 24 points. If Buffalo scores more than 24 points, we win the MACC. If we are below 24 points, then it will be rough to get that win.
  15. Holy smokes! UB jumps to 20 in Coaches Poll
  16. The first ever NET Ranking came out (replaces RPI) https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings Has us at 30
  17. While we can speak on True Blue and students a majority for the noise. It is tough to put full blame when they are there for half the season. The public needs to make more noise. The season ticket holders in particular. Yes, Cleveland we are loud. How come we don't do that at our normal home games. I get it is a different game and it can seem it means more in Cleveland. Every game is like that for us now, if we want to receive an at large bid. When we play at the JAR in Akron. The Rowdies aren't the ones making the most noise. It is the public. That in my mind is the key.
  18. Last game, people in the 300's started a defense chant that eventually people caught on. The cheerleaders do that chant as well but people just don't do anything.
  19. I believe that the fans want to cheer and be loud. I just don't think there is anyone there to give the lead. A lot of these fans haven't been coming to a lot of the games. I heard a conversation behind me that went like this 1: So what are the chants for the UB Bulls? It sounds pretty quiet. 2: I don't know exactly. I went to a few games last year but that is it. 1: Do they have blimps and stuff that go through here like other teams? 2: Wait. There is a chant that is with a cowbell where they do a beat then they chant Bulls! These fans are new season ticket holders. They bought into the hype. Right now, there isn't anything set in place or people to lead the way. Now on free throws, I hear them behind me say "Horns Up". They are catching on and it is great to see! Students will help but they won't be consistently around until the end of January. Usually this is where the cheerleaders should come in. All due respect to the cheerleaders, some of the chants are not good ("Come on Bulls, fight.") The past couple games, they have run around for the other teams free throws telling people to make noise. which is starting to work! Kudos to them. Why don't the cheerleaders do the "BU-FF-AL-O Go"? How come the cowbell isn't played at every single game? Even with no band or students, cheerleaders could do it. Or they can record it to play over the loudspeaker for a timeout.
  20. I'm not sure about move up into the high teens. I can see a 20 or 21 move or staying the same. Some big games happened this week
  21. Wow. It is amazing watching this team. My girlfriend asked me if Dartmouth was Division II or III. We just simply are playing at a level that we haven't seen before. Highlights for me: 1. Driving the lane. Our Bulls made it look easy tonight driving to the basket. They knew this going in but they have to have a confidence boost after this game moving forward. 2. Jordan. I cant believe how much he has improved from last year. He looks so much more at ease on offense. His defense is incredible 3. The freshman. Rondo and Williams showed some talent last night. They are going to be absolutely incredible Bulls players. After one Rondo drive to the basket where he did a step back and made it. I couldn't help but say, we are going to be very good for the next couple years if we have this talent (and coach) 4. Students and band make an impact. I like how the Cheerleaders stepped up after the first ten minutes of it being quiet. People in my section (200's) were ready to scream our heads off but we didnt have direction. We ended up getting into it the second half. We will make it the norm from tip off. Let's keep the ball rolling. Hope CJs injury gets better and it isnt season impacting. Onto Marist
  22. That would explain why the rows next to me were empty for the past two home games. Daeman there was no one. St. Francis, two guys sat next to us with the whole row wide open.
