  1. Smart only played in 2 season at UB (Red Shirted his freshman year) and played in only 57 games at UB (and 27 games at Wake Forest). Perkins (139), Jordan (135), Graves (131), and Massinburg (130) actually hold the top 4 spots on most games played in their career at UB. I found this video (about David Kadiri): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwlY9LAIvC4 Got me wondered what happened to Nikola Rakicevic. I laughed at the time when his profile said: "wants to set the single-game three-point record at UB" and was shooting up bricks. Most three pointers he's ever made in a game was ONE. Played 2 years and then disappeared. Sad to see all these players think they can make the NBA/Pros when they're just average. Does Mitchell Watt have the longest Pro career since leaving UB of all the UB Alumni (13 years). Nice to see him still playing: https://www.proballers.com/basketball/player/60187/mitchell-watt On the women's side, Cierra Dillard was supposed to be a major pro prospect. Current record holder for most points in a single season at UB (856). Drafted in the second round in 2019. Then waived before the season started. Picked up again and dropped after one preseason game. Not sure where she is now but she dropped like a rock.
  2. I watched Skogman last night vs Fordham. He was playing a power-forward role with the inside game. That really wasn't his game. Only 2 points in 19 minutes. Both FT. No 3 point attempts. Only one attempt from the field. Double digit in points 4 of the 13 games this year. Boring game, in general. 57-43 Win for Davidson. 29-14 at the half. Davidson seems to have a lot of tall skinny guys on the team.
  3. I used this list produced by SUNY: https://www.suny.edu/attend/athletics/
  4. And New Mexico and Las Vegas. They know the way since they play Canisius and Niagara here this year. Canisius on a Friday night and then Niagara 2 days later on a Sunday.
  5. I will add that I've been so impressed by Jack right from the start. Was surprised how little playing time he was initially getting. The past 3 games, he's been getting the minutes and doing well. Versus Canton, 16 points, 7 of 9 FG, 3 blocks and 13 rebounds in just 16 minutes. He has a great inside game and he gets those rebounds. Being a Freshman, he has a great future ahead but (like recent history) I'm concerned he'll transfer for greener pastures.
  6. Heard on the radio it was a separated shoulder diving for a ball and was day to day. Maybe ready for the Michigan State game.
  7. Any word on why Charleston backed out? Seems they have a full schedule. Currently 12-1 with 15 games before the end of the year. UB only has 13 games. And why aren't we playing Niagara any more (last time was 2019)? Is it because we are 7-1 since 2009 and they are tired of losing? In another thread, somebody wanted an "all SUNY" tournament. Only 5 DI SUNY (21 DIII) schools in basketball according to SUNY (using NET ranking): Cornell: Ranked 116 Buffalo: Ranked 193 Albany: Ranked 324 Stony Brook: Ranked 343 Binghamton: Ranked 348 Besides Cornell, not exactly the elite. And here is the list of all NYS D1 schools: Iona College (MAAC): Ranked 43 St. John's University (Big East): Ranked 90 Fordham University (A10): Ranked 105 Hofstra University (CAA): Ranked 128 Colgate University (Patriot): Ranked 151 Syracuse University (ACC): Ranked 153 St Bonaventure University (A10): Ranked 199 Siena College (MAAC): Ranked 212 Niagara University (MAAC): Ranked 239 Wagner College (NEC): Ranked 258 Canisius College (MAAC): Ranked 262 Army (Patriot): Ranked 299 Marist College (MAAC): Ranked 313 St Francis College (NEC): Ranked 320 Manhattan College (MAAC): Ranked 336 Columbia University (Ivy): Ranked 338 We probably should be playing more MAAC teams but that might be a step down for us but still better than D3 schools.
  8. 70 points in the paint. 36 points from behind the arc. 17 free throws. Makes 123 of the 129 points. Only 6 points inside the arc. I felt sorry for Canton. Only a 2-10 record in Division 3 this year and then play a Division I team. Canton just gave up too many fast break points and easy layups. Is there seriously no Division I teams around that want to play us?
  9. Uncle!!! 68 of the current 125 points are in the paint.
  10. Division 3 school that isn't playing well.
  11. I think they only had 10 girls dressed. Heard Kiara Johnson is out for the season with what I assume is an injury. They shot really bad from the field at the start of the first and second half. I think they were under 10% at one point at the start of the game. Most of the misses were layups and rushed shots. Bucknell was shooting around 50% in the first half. It's the defense that won them the game at the end. Winfield is a rebounding machine. She had 13 rebounds mostly on defense.
  12. I "liked" the post because I am tired of seeing "Fire Whitesell" comments after every loss and not because of the "radio silence" comment.
  13. I'm thinking it was more like LIU looked bad. The LIU coach looked like a high school kid. And so very odd that they didn't even go to the locker room at halftime. They just went into the corner of the arena for several minutes then some just sat on the bench while others took shots for 10 minutes. UB gave up way too many 3 point shots especially in the 4th quarter (4 of 8). UB shot well from the field (53%) as well as free throws (80%). Coach said before the game she was going to work the paint. UB scored 58 points in the paint of the 91 points. Johnson looked good inside (rebounding and baskets). Winfield look good as usual. I thought UB was struggling against the press. Several turnovers especially when the "subs" got in there. They seemed to figure it out on the last few possessions. They need quicker and/or longer passes to break the press. Who is the point guard on the team? None of the UB guards seem to handle the ball well.
  14. Just a little surprised with Skogman. He was doing great last year with the 3s but not so good this year and not even that many attempts.
  15. He's got his own highlight reel. https://youtu.be/7iBmZbSnI-E
  16. One row isn't enough. There are usually 3-4 rows empty behind the standing students in the South End. You do realize that section 101-105 are by far the most expensive season ticket prices in the house.
  17. And I believe they got complaints from the standing students blocking the view of Season Ticket holders when they were behind the visitor bench. Also the area behind the visitor bench is usually reserved for the visiting fans. I've asked before, why did they move the band? I always thought the band was supposed to be as close as possible to the visitor bench to make it hard during the timeouts. They also moved the cheerleaders to the North End but I assume that's because of the large numbers of Cheerleaders and Dazzlers this year.
  18. Is Blocker okay? Looked like he got injured (Leg?) just before the end of the first half and didn't return in the second half. He got injured with a minute left but stayed in the game. Looked like he was in alot of pain.
  19. That was funny. I saw them call 1 and 1. Foster (?) took the first shot and nobody reacted. The ball ended on the court in the free throw lane. Foster bent down and flicked it to the ref on the end-line. Ball out-of-bounds off UB. Ball goes to the Bonnies. Took awhile but the refs got it right.
  20. I'm still trying to understand how standing during the game correlates to making the arena "rock". I've been to many games. Never stood. But EVERYBODY made to arena "rock" (including having a good team). This year it will be tough. Seems like season tickets are way down. Hopefully the students can make up for that.
  21. What does standing for a game prove? Students (as well as all the fans) just need to be more vocal and get into the game.
  22. Nice to not see the "Fire the Coach" comments in this thread. It's only a few games into the season. This is a young (and new) team. Good win today. Hopefully it will bring back some confidence.
  23. Fair against Colgate: 28 minutes, 4-13 FG, 1-4 3P. Total of 10 points and sat out the entire 4th quarter. Woolley did not dress. McEvans again did not play and I didn't see her on the bench.
  24. What does it mean to sign a letter of intent? I assume. like everything else these days, they could still change their minds and go somewhere else.
