I do agree there’s talent on the roster going forward. We are just going to be younger and experience growing pains of that youth. If all players stay and grow quickly…hopefully we can compete for a title in 2-3 years.

You think he’s a good tactician? Serious question. We have failed numerous times to execute offensive plays coming out of timeouts. Heck we fail to get the ball inbounded cleanly often. One more question…what has been our identity under Whitesell?

Agree. But that’s on the coach. He builds the roster. He recruits players for his system. Here’s a question, what is Whitesell’s system? He’s not a great X and O guy. May be too player friendly rather than demanding. Has missed on a number of shooters in terms of recruiting. And more importantly…has earned the Can’t Win The Big Game label

Mballa a no show many times this year. Segu had a bad game at the worst time.

He’s 0 for 3 in tournaments as the head coach. With players such as Mballa, Segu, Williams, Jordan and Graves. Yes COVID wiped out 2020 but we still lost to Miami, at home. That counts. Add in all the other losses to lesser teams, or last possession losses in which we failed to execute and that equals failure. We failed to meet expectations in the window of opportunity.

Look I’ll be right there with you. My fandom isn’t going away. This is my school and I’m proud of it. I agree it will be refreshing to have no expectations and see what materializes. But I think it has become apparent that Whitesell may not be the one capable of getting them to a ship. If he couldn’t this season, last season or the year before with Graves and Jordan then idk about him.

My expectations for the Whitesell era was a MAC title within the 3 window of having mballa, Williams and Segu. Coming off our successful run under previous coaches…mission failed. Plain and simple. Now we go into a massive era of uncertainty.

Or the countless times a timeout is called and the team looks clueless coming out of said timeout. Whitesell just doesn’t seem like a good X and O guy. Perfect assistant but not a head man

I think we can all agree the window of winning is closed. Next year the expectations will be low. And the future beyond next year looks bleak. Depending if our young players develop it may be 3 years before we can compete for a MAC title. 2 if we hit it big.
