  1. With all the conference realignment going on, if the Pistons can throw together a football team they might get a look at the MAC. Great geographic fit. PS. I feel very happy for the kids. That's going to be one fun ass bus ride home tonight! Edit: I guess they'd fly to this one? Idk
  2. Congrats to GH3 and staff on their first D1 win - been a crummy few months I'm sure. Happy for the guys too, they seemed to come out with intent and built enough of a lead to hold on. With my objections to the guard spots noted, I love seeing Sabol get forged in the fire, having to bring the ball up and play point. If he can become ideally a secondary PG with elite 3PT shooting on better future rosters, that's a weapon that we've lacked even going back to the Oats teams. Jo Smith is the heart and soul of the team. Chatman is a significant talent at the MAC level. No doubt JW would still be the coach if Sy played last season - he would have been worth 3-4 wins. Adams needs to find his groove off his injury still. Not sure if he's even 100%, like someone mentioned he looked sluggish. Graham is still a mystery, not really understanding what his game is at this point, but he's got a couple more weeks of grace period from me. It's still scary that a team in the 300s needed to go ICE COLD from 3 for us to maintain our lead, but this beggar will not be a chooser tonight. Happy with the win and happy to have felt something other than despair watching them. Go Bulls
  3. Why do they take the scorebug off the screen??
  4. It's just crazy. We only have three guards (ballhandlers) on the roster - two freshmen and one sophomore.
  5. Can we make sure Sabol finds a major he likes and a local GF? He needs to be a staple of the first four GH3 Bulls rosters.
  6. Heck yeah, great half. High effort and some coaching strategy to put our best guys in their best spots. I think I said after the second game that Sabol should have a greenlight to shoot every time he touches it. That form ain't no joke!
  7. Keep getting our best players the right looks - open threes for Adams and Sabol, dump downs and ORebs for Chatman and Jo. No one else should shoot except for open layups.
  8. I'm excited to sit down and watch this game..?
  9. I'm not sure we get to call this a "must win" days after losing our last "must win." But it really feels like we need to take one of the directional Michigan games this week just for morale purposes.
  10. I think firing Whitesell was the wrong move if it was done just for firing's sake, without properly considering the quality of realistic alternatives at the time. Because that's all it ever was - the sitting coach vs the best, most attainable alternative. A winless November and December without much promise for the future leaves plenty of doubt as to whether Alnutt chose the best path for us.
  11. Respectfully, describing what has happened here as "the slightest bump in the road" is rather ridiculous. And I don't think it's fair to call fans weak for being shocked at our program plummeting to the worst in D1. A lot of us maintained a pretty positive attitude through Whitesell's .500 season. This isn't complaining just for the fun of it - this is a shocking season, and us on a message board pretending otherwise isn't going to change that.
  12. Right. Since we're paying two coaches right now, which one would we all rather have on our sideline at the moment earning that paycheck? For me the answer is Whitesell 100%.
  13. It absolutely makes firing Whitesell a bad move if this was the plan for what followed. The firing doesn't happen in a vacuum, it was a decision of Whitesell vs the feasible alternatives. They appear to have massively overestimated the quality of the feasible alternatives.
  14. Great posts as usual, in this and the other thread. Admittedly, my analysis is more shallow than yours. I can't quite get up the interest to dive deeper on this team, mostly due to the simple facts I posted. Not leading for a single possession past the first quarter of a single game is pretty damning evidence of an uncompetitive team. Not trying to heap work on you, but I'm curious how the stats you're working with would look up until the largest lead of the game, or some other way to exclude what I regard as garbage time.
  15. Appreciate the attempts at positivity but... We've trailed by ~20 points at some point in 8/10 D1 games, all but Louisiana and FDU. I've never even heard of something like that. We haven't had a lead in the second half against any of the 10 D1 teams we've played. That is UNBELIEVABLE. Skimming the game flow charts, I don't think we've had a lead past the ten minute mark of the first half. We've pulled some games close late when the opponent has already let up, making scores look closer than they really were. Agree that Niagara feels like a could/should win game. The MAC schedule should present even better opportunities for wins compared to the decent schedule we've faced of 50-200 ranked teams. But nonetheless it is a commentary on where we are at the moment when we're combing the schedule looking for a single solitary win. Kudos to the guys and staff for maintaining the effort level in the face of some harrowing results so far.
  16. I didn't insult their intelligence. I compared how much we as fans care to how much players care when they're sending UB a goodbye note that can't even be checked over once for errors. More importantly, you're not a UB then fan eh? Just kind of trolling around stirring up shit? Kindly confirm so I can block you and your awful takes into the ether.
  17. The system is gross and broken. Plus I could really do without these disingenuous, grammatical error-riddled posts thanking "great program." Honestly it makes me question what I'm even doing caring about this ****. https://twitter.com/eddiewhipple5/status/1737186792346939512
  18. So the players have been the problem then? Or the HC? Gotta be one of the three and ideally it would be the ACs.
  19. Hadn't seen that reported anywhere. There was a gap of more than a week between the two stories, so I assumed it was at best a mutual parting of ways with the Bills gig a soft landing spot for the rest of the year.
  20. That's a completely different conversation than relating multimillion dollar athletes to the slave trade, but ok. I did no such thing, no idea what you're talking about. If you're referring to the board as a whole as "you," I'd suggest being a bit more precise with your language. There are a lot of people here, all with their own views. Free tuition is a hell of a head start compared to, you know, regular college students. Student athletes should be educated on and prepared for the fact that they are unlikely to be professional athletes. There's no reason that "the vast majority" of student athletes, disadvantaged or not, should be failing to utilize the opportunity their athletic talents have afforded them in the classroom.
  21. This thread is a mess. Comparing men doing something they love and competing to be the most well-compensated professionals in the history of the world to a slave auction is in the immortal words of Bob Uecker...juuuuust a bit outside. I'd watch ESPN if I wanted my sports stuffed with hysterical, misguided political themes. Maybe take a few plays off?
  22. He was fired by UB. I seriously doubt he is making $400k with the Bills as a third string assistant to an assistant.
  23. Oof glad I skipped attending this one. The skill level is just not there imo. Let's see if we have one of our little second half runs to tighten it up.
  24. I'd like to see a lot more McMillian next year.
  25. I saw in the BN recap article that Famakinde missed the game with an "illness." Do we know if that's been the case the entire year or..?
