  1. Wow. How quickly things change. Although, I don’t believe the additions make a huge difference for the MAC, I was still excited for some change. I wouldn’t doubt if this comes back around and there’s a report that the MAC will in fact be adding them. Information is flying around too quickly. Seems like these are negotiation tactics.
  2. In the world of analytics, the mid range shot has become obsolete. Getting to the rim, getting fouled, and shooting 3’s is going to be what this team and many teams live and die on
  3. Jack’s stroke is pure. Blocker and Jones are incredible athletes. Could see them progressing into the defensive stoppers we need. If not this year, next. Played well defensively, rebounded, got to the rim. Perry is a dog. Efficient scoring tonight. Mading is raw and definitely had some nerves tonight. But man is he long. Great put back dunk. And his elbows were above the rim on the one he misses. Overall, good outing for the new guys. I’m excited to watch them progress

  5. After digging deeper, compiling the rankings of the last 5 completed seasons for both basketball and football, this conference wouldn’t give us the jump up that I was expecting. While the top end talent in this conference is superior, there is far too much disparity between the top half and the bottom half, causing the league to fair worse on average than that of the MAC
  6. I was basing it off of the map at the bottom of the link below. The map may have been done by football conference as football rules collegiate sports. The average net ranking in 2020 for this hypothetical league vs the MAC would be 138th vs 193rd. And the average football ranking in 2021 is 82nd vs 95th. So this league would absolutely be a step up in comparison to the MAC. The issue would be that it’s a down grade for the schools moving from the AAC to this league. Regardless, I think it’s going to be very difficult for the AAC moving forward. They were the bridge between the mid majors and power 5 schools. With the NIL, the top schools will continue to get poached by the power 5. I could see the AAC disbanding in the intermediate future and this would provide a great opportunity for the lesser performing schools in the AAC, who weren’t given the opportunity to move up. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Group_of_Five_conferences
  7. Great points. Scratch Army and bring in Marshall?
  8. This is completely hypothetical but with the talks for regionalization I was wondering if you guys thought this mock conference 1. made sense and 2. would be any better than the competition we currently play in the MAC. It would take backing from Independents and poaching from the AAC, SB, and CUSA for regionality but would consist of Buffalo Old Dominion Umass Liberty Army East Carolina Uconn Charlotte Temple Appalachian St Navy Coastal Carolina Maybe call it the East Coast Conference? Thoughts?
  9. Willie Lightfoot is currently playing on ESPN2 in the National Semis
  10. Going off that, I’ve only found two of our 2019 and 2020 offers in the transfer portal. De’Sean Allen-Eikens and AJ Bramah
  11. I don’t believe the big 3 are leaving. Unfinished business and it’s their show. I’m more concerned about getting transfers. Are we in the running for any big names in the transfer portal? Nimari Burnett, CG, is transferring from Texas Tech. Worked out really well for Mballa. Justin Powell, PG from Auburn, 6’5” and dangerous from 3? Could be a great fit?
  12. Very true. Arguably, UB and Bonnie are the best programs that he has offers from. I understand KSU and Iowa State are power five but they were the two worst teams in the Big 12 this year. Based on our lack of depth at guard and our programs success, we’re the best fit for him. I don’t think that matters though unfortunately.
  13. What would the difference in time on court be like in comparison to UB vs. KSU/Iowa State? It seems to me like he has to potential to seriously contribute at UB as an incoming Freshman. Can the same be said for those programs? What does their guard depth look like?
  14. I’m nearly certain he’ll be committing to Oregon. A few months back he “committed” to Oregon on a private snapchat story. I would love to have him at UB, he’s an absolute dog. Plays D like Caruthers and Jordan. And I love a homegrown product. But he left the area for a reason. Still, I hope that I’m wrong.
