  1. It's nice to see them finally get off to a hot start for once. Now just keep the pedal to the medal.
  2. The TV packages are signed years in advance with the conferences. ESPN probably isn't able to move it elsewhere. ESPN has the ACC tournament and ESPN2 has the Big 12. ESPNU has the AAC tournament.
  3. Yeah, I’m only getting sound in my rear right speaker of my surround sound. It’s frustrating when the commercials come on and they’re normal sounding.
  4. Just came on to see if others were having problems with the sound. I’m getting tempted to mute it and bring up the radio broadcast
  5. WARNING: The chorus is NSFW.. back in 2003-2006 time frame they always played the Bridge of Guerrilla Radio right before the opening tip off "It has to start somewhere It has to start sometime What better place than here? What better time than now?" ...and then the student section would go nuts.
  6. Time to bounce back. Make better decisions and play a better game. Let's make NIU just a bump in the road.
  7. Just for comparisons sake, Bonna moves a home game to Rochester every year. This past weekend they played Fordham and it drew 4.9k fan at the BCA. (Capacity at the BCA is 13,000). I would expect UB to be relatively the same at the Key Bank Centre. Maybe a few thousand more but nowhere near the 19k it would take to fill the Key Bank Centre. I think they're better off just staying at Alumni and packing the house. https://gobonnies.sbu.edu/sports/m-baskbl/2018-19/releases/20190112sucoc4
  8. at least its not Miami of Ohio...
  9. I think his physical abilities should make him pretty comparable to Josh Allen - Big Arm, big built, able to scramble... it's the mental part of the game that's going to hurt him. He seems to always make a few dumb decisions every game (They were glaringly bad decisions during MAC championship and dollar general bowl). I was hoping he'd come back or at least transfer to play one more year of college ball so that he can work on the mental part of the game. I can't blame him for wanting to get paid to play especially since he already has his degree. Here's hoping he gets drafted by a team with a good veteran QB and stable coaching staff where he can sit and learn and develop into a starter in the NFL.
  10. Watching Toledo - FIU while I work this afternoon is definitely getting me more in the mood. However, I do agree it's definitely the combination of the let down of the MAC Championship and the success of the basketball team making it less interesting. I think part of it is playing in Mobile Alabama against a team that doesn't draw up any sort of interest for the casual fan as well hurts. I think also, if the International Bowl was still around in Toronto there might be more interest as well.
  11. Holy crap!!!!! Never thought I’d see the day! So happy right now!
  12. I would consider Bonna a "local" rival. We're all part of the Buffalo Big 4. However who wins and loses between UB, Niagara, Conesius, and Bonna doesn't really matter. It's fun to chitchat about with alumni from other schools and one up each other, but in the end because they're in different conferences, it doesn't matter that much. I definitely pull for the other big 4 schools to do well, when they aren't playing UB. There's not so much hate to the other big 4 schools than that they're all UB's little brothers. I would think UB's main rivals are Ohio, Kent State & Akron. They seem to be the other MAC schools that are also regularly good in basketball over the last 20 years. The games between UB and especially Ohio & Kent State tend to be pretty intense and tend to get a good crowd. In football, UB has been so inconsistent that there really isn't one, unless you count possibly Temple or UConn.
  13. I definitely recommend this and is what I do when I get back to UB for games. Park at Furnas lot, grab food in the Union or the Commons on your walk over. Much easier leaving at the end of games and can quickly hop on the 990 to head back to Rochester.
  14. That's exactly what I was looking for but not in white. Between me and my kids, a white hat would get destroyed. I'm all good at this point. I ordered an Interlocking 'UB' hat from the bookstore's website and had it shipped to me back in early October.
  15. I agree... All my caps I wear are New Era 3930's. I ended up just ordering one from the bookstore with the interlocking UB logo.
  16. I know my friends and I snuck probably an additional 10 people into the arena after it was at capacity. Those bleachers were definitely swaying and definitely no space to even sit.
  17. I can remember almost killing myself climbing over the scorer's table/broadcasters seats. Probably 2 of my favorite moments from my time a UB. Also the bus rides going back and forth from Buffalo to Cleveland every day of the MAC tournament.
  18. UB didn't play Niagara 3 years ago either. The past 2 years, UB went to Niagara, which means Niagara hasn't come to Alumni in 4 years. Weird. I can only imagine it's just a scheduling conflict between the 2 schools.
  19. I finally bit the bullet and did the 7 day free trial for the UB-Toledo football game. Looks like I'm going to end up buying it since there are so many basketball games.
  20. Heard a interview with the MAC commissioner at halftime of the game on the radio Saturday. He mentioned in the interview they they like to rotate where teams go so the same school doesn't go to the same bowl in back to back years.
  21. Yeah just one so far - still it's good exposure. There's not a dedicated beat reporter for the Athletic for UB sports like there are for the Bills/Sabres. If you look at what college programs are currently covered, there are very few that have a dedicated beat reporter and certainly none for a mid-major.
