  1. NIU is kicking off at CMU with snow sticking to the ground. We’ll see how those teams do, and see if there’s snow on the ground in Toledo, could make it interesting with turnovers. Maybe that’s why we chose the white uniforms 🙃
  2. This isn’t about Mack, but I didn’t see a thread for it so I didn’t know if this went unnoticed or not, but saw this during the lions game last night.
  3. You mean they aren’t fixing it up for some intense international MACtion in front of millions of adoring fans?
  4. Yeah that’s the big problem. UB doesn’t push for the community or student involvement, leading to a rather dull game day atmosphere. The only way to keep our coaches and get star players is to (obviously) invest in the program. With proper outreach, UB can pack Alumni every game, should always be 5000+. It’s not unreasonable, football always does more than that, but they need to get people to care. When you bring up attendance and game revenue, you can pay coaches more and make them happy to stay (who doesn’t want to stay at a full stadium). St Bonaventure, even with losing records, always packs their arena, because their community and students care. If we mimic them, then with the funding and passion increase UB could finally grow and maybe break out of the MAC
  5. Toledo is projecting a light band of snow around game time. Are we looking at another ground game like BG? Or does this make things interesting for us?
  6. Very sloppy with the ball. Those issues aside, even with the ball comfortably in possession they’re dropping it and turning it over. We shouldn’t be losing the ball while we’re holding it.
  7. Is this exhibition ticketed/parking limited? Just want to know if I’ll have to park elsewhere
  8. I guess I misconstrued what I was trying to say. I’m meaning coach needs to figure out what the issue is in attack and maybe bring in a recruit who can put away any chance. The buildup is great, but the finishing isn’t, and Krohn can only do so much. We just fall behind in the MAC because we don’t poach cheap goals day in day out, maybe coach makes that an option off the bench. I don’t like that style, but we’re more competitive with power 5 schools than we are in conference.
  9. Yes this was a common theme for UB this year. They’re so good with the ball, dominating possession and pretty much every stat you can think of, but they have no teeth. They build up play so well but once they get near goal they can’t make it through. The on the other side our defense is high caliber, but it seems that every time another team shoots the ball from anywhere it goes in. I don’t think it’s a keeper issue, it’s just that the other teams get one or two good chances all game and they capitalize on both. I still maintain UB plays a style of the game that’s too good for the MAC. They play a much more polished and professional version of soccer than anyone in conference: good possession protection, playing out from the back, 1 2 passes, smart ball handling. But what they lack against MAC opponents is a killer instinct. They don’t have scrappy counter attacks and cheap through balls through the air. And they never press forward, they’re so defense oriented that they only ever have 3 players going forward on an attack. Next season will be interesting, we’ll see if coach can adapt with new recruits.
  10. Regardless of how the rest of season and MAC tournament go, this is still a historic bulls team and a positive sign for the future
  11. Is the event staff change also why football is being picky about seating? As a student bringing guests Ticketmaster only allows me to buy tickets in section 131 (most south section of the east end). I’ve never had a problem sitting on the west end with my family, but this year they’ve been insistent on us moving over there. I’d like for my guests to be able to hear the band and such, so it’s kind of annoying.
  12. Or Feb 9th in Toronto for anyone in buffalo
  13. Watched his highlight reel, the commentators are saying some good stuff about him. Saying he’s a good driver, good with his off-hand, and that he’s just a good player who gets things done. They really like him, hopefully he can keep impressing
  14. Bulls beat toledo 3-0 last night in a dominating defensive performance. Toledo was held to 2 shots on goal, both from distance, and neither happened until about 15 minutes left in the game. Offense struggled a bit, and didn’t score their goals until rather late in the game, but their shots were clinical. Last home game is next Thursday vs Kent.
  15. On a whim I decided to check the rest of the MAC in the US News rankings. Think we firmly put ourselves in first in recent years. We’re at 76, the next closest is Miami at 133
  16. Posted a pretty good game last night. Solid minutes, points, and led in rebounds. Might have just earned himself a higher roster spot. ESPN also changed Jeenathan to Nate
  17. Volleyball is in for a ride with their upcoming schedule. Next 4 opponents have a combined conference record of 27-5.
  18. Wasn’t a fan of their team’s behavior. As they went into the tunnel at half time they were cussing out Buffalo and yelling into the stands with foul language. Hardly appropriate for all the kids that were around. Had to apologize to my family for that one.
  19. 7 points, 7 minutes vs New Orleans
  20. Scored 9 points in 8 minutes off the bench. 4-5 for fg
  21. Or a coach for defense?? Would have a mild Deion Sanders effect for recruiting 👀
