Just based on eye test, I thought Snyder was far worse than Vantrease at UB.

I’ve said this before, but I’m actually scared of how bad JMU will slaughter us. They are averaging 92 points per game and with our defensive woes I could easily see JMU putting up 120+. If we can’t even be competitive against 2-4 Iona or 4-4 South Alabama, imagine what a top tier mid major like JMU will do to this mess of a team

I just think quarterback is such a vital position to success that if we are to go anywhere and make a bowl game, we need to do better. Snyder didn’t get the job done and the coaching staff proved they lost trust in him by using the Snyder-Ogbonna rotation. If we can’t even trust a quarterback on the roster, we need to find an upgrade

Obviously this year was not what we wanted as fans. Apart of the problem was the abysmal quarterback play and the embarrassing quarterback rotation that made every play we ran predictable. Going forward, do you think Cole Snyder is the guy? Personally I don’t think he is very good, and I think we should strive to find a veteran QB in the portal that actually has some game experience or at least talent we can work with. Snyder came in and won the job after being 3rd/4th string at Rutgers. Do you guys think Snyder is the answer or should we turn to a newbie, Ogbonna or even a guy like Gunnar Gray or Richie Watts?

I really appreciate people’s optimism on this forum, but I really don’t think anyone can get realistic hopes up for even another win this season. You can’t magically fix major issues of turnovers, defense and depth.

I’m genuinely scared of how bad we are going to be slaughtered by JMU. The way they’ve looked, they may hang 130+ on this UB team even if they put the foot on the brakes in the 2nd half

Enjoy our only win this year! Unless we have an insanely drastic turnaround, this could be one of our worst seasons in school history based on the games thus far. The defense is just laughably awful

Say what you will about Whitesell, at least under him we easily put away awful D2 teams. At least under him we had a full roster of more than 10 guys. This is a new low for the program, but I trust Halcovage if we give him some time

Sloppy play so far, can’t let Roberts Wesleyan hang much longer. Just need to tighten up mistakes and play our game

Our 2 losses do not look good so far Fairleigh Dickinson lost by 30 to Seton Hall, while not only did South Alabama lose to an NAIA team but got absolutely slaughtered by Alabama 102-46. Even Daemen who we barely beat has come out to a mediocre 3-2 record in D2 play. We might be a MAC bottom feeder if we can’t even be competitive against awful teams

Is anyone else shocked at how poor roster construction was this year? There’s a laughable lack of depth on this team (although it doesn’t help that Graham is ineligible. Hopefully Halcovage can workout the kinks next recruiting cycle in the off-season and hopefully he doesn’t lose the faith of the players this year and they transfer out

It’s gonna be a loooong season. South Alabama got trounced by an NAIA team and we are playing like garbage against them. This years team is a bottom of MAC level squad. Idk how Halcovage recruited so poorly this summer, the only good players are Whitesell holdovers

I don’t get what you’re trying to say. It makes sense to pursue more guys in the portal next year, since we already had a huge freshman class. Just because we aren’t getting scrub freshman to commit doesn’t mean the program is at rock bottom . It’s not like these are good recruits we are striking out on or anything

Well it isn’t how we wanted to start the year but I think we showed a lot of promise of what we can become. Let Fulcher and the freshman develop, get a veteran guard for next year and get Adams and Smith with a year more of experience as well as Graham and we could be a very scary team next year. We can maybe even make some noise this year if we can fix our defense. Win or lose, at the very least this seems like it will be an exciting team to watch

Geez, Isaiah Adams looks like a star. Jo Smith is also a monster in the paint. Hope we can close this one out strong

May be an overreaction but he’s getting blown by almost every defensive possession and clearly doesn’t have the handles to play point guard

It’s honestly embarrassing we couldn’t get a traditional point guard on our roster at all. I’ve been given Fulcher a hard time but it’s clear he’s not a natural point guard, he doesn’t have the handles and is always getting blown by on defense

Fulcher sucks, he’s awful defensively, takes dumb shots and has awful handles

Overall both teams have shot lights out, still not sold on this team being a good team but I think Adams, Chatman and Jo Smith have been impressive. I don’t like Fulcher, turnover prone and reckless

One things for sure this team has been fun to watch! Sloppy on defense overall though
