  1. Not too sure about this one. I'm worried about the Basheer matchup, a 6'9" guy who can pop out for the three. Ball St. does seem to struggle with the assist to turnover ratio on the road so there might be some extra possessions in our favor tonight if we can protect the ball ourselves. If we get the version of Isaiah Adams we got in Toledo, and some of the hustle I saw on defense during that game, we can win this one. How many games am I gonna say I think we can win until I learn? Go Bulls 🤘
  2. Given the mid-major environment, I think this is an impossible question to answer. An all too early guess I say at a minimum we have: Sabol Fulcher Graham McVeigh Diovion Maybes (these guys have been here for a minute, are good players, maybe they try to get one more year in a better conference) Adams Jo Anticipated Transfers Boldin Kanye Zaakir And then we get to see how GH3 handles the transfer portal and what kind of talent he's both targeting, and able to recruit (or keep!) Frankly.... This off-season and the performance of the team next season I think is far more important in evaluating GH3 than this year is.
  3. I think if we keep Boldin and Sabol that's a great look for GH3. At the same time if we lose one or both of them, it's not something I'd place solely on GH3 because it's the nature of college sports and the mid-major life right now. Normally, I'd say it's a bit unfair to give someone credit but not place the blame on them if it goes the other way, so I see the fault in my logic in this. My best guess as it stands now is Boldin will be gone and Sabol will be here for another year, have a Curtis Jones type sophomore season, and then transfer.
  4. Okay if we don't win after that missed dunk... That's something that normally happens to us 😅 e: Needed that Chatman three or for Jo to finish the OREB. Good effort tonight though, can't take that away from them. Build on it.
  5. This is our best defensive effort of the season so far by a long shot. I hope this is a sign of comfort and familiarity in the system. A sign of things to come.
  6. Every time I see Graham or McVeigh on the floor it reminds me of the Nickelberry era where I'm just sitting here hoping we survive these minutes. Is there any news on Kanye? Also not sure why Zaakir isn't in the rotation I feel like he's been giving us career best minutes recently e: Zaakir must be hurt(?). I think I see him in civilian clothes on the bench
  7. Isaiah finding it perhaps!?! 👀
  8. The one thing I see is that Toledo tends to give up more points to guards relative to their competition (that is, if you trust my math... which...). Maybe Sabol, Boldin, and Fulcher find themselves open and if Sabol gets hot... who knows. My expectations are at the floor. In my estimation, Toledo or Akron will be representing the MAC in March, so, another tough one here. I hope we cover. I hope they prove me wrong and win. Go Bulls 🤘
  9. I'm liking Fulcher more and more recently. His ability to get to the basket on the drive has been impressive. Seems like the type of player where the more comfortable in a system he is, the better he'll be (duh). I think he'll be a huge factor for us... next season 😅
  10. That block by Jo on Freeman this half got an audible reaction from me... one of the few highlights from MAC play so far.
  11. (Still new to the board, can anyone make game day threads or is it limited to mods/select few? Apologies if I jumped the gun on this one) This is going to be a disaster of a game. We don't have any answer for Enrique Freeman or Ali x2. Freeman last year against us went for 18, 21, and 19. Jack fouled out of the MAC QF game in only 6 minutes of playing time. Jo and Zaakir are going to have their hands full. If we can find a way to put Freeman or Ali in foul trouble early forcing Tribble to be more of Akron's offensive focal point... then maybe we'll at least cover the ~17 point spread? Prove me wrong and win. Go Bulls 🤘
  12. Hm yeah okay. We may not win another game this year...
  13. Call it false confidence, but I think we come away with the win tonight. Miami was without Ipsaro last game, not sure what his status is. To me it comes down to Jo staying on the court by staying out of foul trouble, and keeping pace with the three-headed center monster that Miami OH has been deploying. Paging Isaiah Adams... Go Bulls 🤘
  14. The painful thing is there's not an upcoming game in conference where I can point to it on the calendar and say "this one is definitely a win". Let's see how we respond at home vs a middle of the pack MAC team in Miami OH. Gotta go back to the 20-21 season to find a MAC team without at least 4 wins. Are we that bad? I hope not. Chalk me up for more than 4 but no more than 6 but ask me again Tuesday around 9pm...
  15. - Isaiah needs to find his game or start dishing the ball. 6-21 at home in MAC play ain't it - This team is completely different with and without Jo on the floor - By my count UB attempted 34 shots in the 2nd half. Adams took 14, Chatman took 12. Let's get Sabol more involved Gonna be a long(er) year if we can't figure out the offensive side of the ball. Go Bulls 🤘
  16. We really need Adams to find his game so I have a love/hate with him being 1-7 so far today but still looking for his shot. We know he's good enough and we need him to find that level. But I would certainly like our offense to look more fluid and that begins with a little more ball movement than what we've seen so far today.
  17. An absolute miracle to only be down two going into the half when UB was scoreless for what, seven minutes? Sabol, man... 🔥
  18. In another all too early statement, I am unimpressed with Graham
  19. Second game in a row with Fulcher out of the starting lineup
  20. Worried about Hubbard. If he gets hot WMU could run us off the court. That said, Sy Chatman at Alumni is probably the best player in this game today and that should be enough to get us to 2-0. Need Isaiah to find his game at Alumni too. Isaiah hasn't been great at home since the FDU game. Go Bulls 🤘
  21. That's gotta feel good. Build on it. Keep the momentum going. Go Bulls 🤘
  22. One of my biggest frustrations with this year's team, and last year's team to an extent. Imagine an Oats coached team not diving for that ball on the ground right in front of Graham there. Chatman just staring at it. Bring back the hard hat. The "culture" just hasn't been the same since Nate and Segu graduated.
  23. Jo with way too many turnovers but his battle level down low is all-time right now
