Fulcher in the portal is crazy to me. College sports broken af. Power to the players, all day every day, but wow. The stats in the thread are interesting definitely but I was selfishly going to use Fulcher this year as a barometer of how this GH3 staff develops players. Fulcher has good speed, showed good drive to the hoop. Turnovers and 3PT shooting were an issue, surely attributing to his bad metrics, but that can be coached, and I wanted to see if it was. Oh well. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up. Feel like we desperately need another vet now.

Can't help but think if you're a college coach watching these games... how do you not adapt this style of play that Oats instilled here and continued at Alabama? Final score not representative of that game at all. It'd be one thing if Oats left UB for a middling SEC team and proved to be in way over his head by making them worse, but man, has he done the total opposite. Hard to be mad at a guy for "leaving" when he proves it. GH3... you watching?

This surprised me. I know he hit the portal for a minute last year. I really enjoyed his run towards the end of the season, felt like he was finally putting it together and I think he's the only one on the team this season who tried to draw a charge. Rooting for him, wherever he ends up

Don't you need a waiver on starting on 3? (like what happened with Ali x2 this year?) So theoretically Graham is taking a risk that he won't even get to play next year. Yeesh.

Definitely thought we were Graham's third transfer and thought he was stuck here. No crocodile tears for a very underwhelming player. Best of luck to him.

Not sure if this is the right thread but Isaiah finally hit the portal. Adams, Smith, and Jones were locks for the portal. I think anyone else ending up in there at this point would be a bit of a surprise.

Really feel awful for Rollins. Have to know the situation though. As a MAC fan... I am happy it's Akron representing us in the tournament over Kent State. Let Freeman and Ali x2 put on a show in a game, maybe even two depending on the round one matchup, and maybe get some focus on the MAC. This conference certainly won't have the juice that the Oats Buffalo teams gave it, but I'm more confident in a MAC win with Akron there than Kent St.

I love everything about what just happened at the end of the half in the Akron/Miami (OH) game. Freeman rebounds the ball 28 seconds left and immediately turns it over in a very dumb way. Miami (OH) ties the game @ 35 on a jumper. Akron brings it down the court, Freeman dunks it to end the half. 37-35. He runs towards his locker room and points at his head, bangs his chest, says "my bad" to his teammates and John Groce hugs him as he's walking off the court. That's culture. That's an established organization. That's a senior leader on a team. Twenty-eight seconds that looks like this tells you everything you need to know about how much we're currently missing in our organization.

Agree with a lot of what's being said in this thread, disagree with some as well. I expected bad, but not historically bad. Not 2 conference wins bad. Despite the margin of losses, some of those final games looked a lot better than some of the November/December games we watched. My biggest complaint remains that I have no idea what the identity of this team is. Knowing what this season was going to be, that's all I wanted to see. I wanted to see GH3 put his stamp on the team and show us early signs of what would've hopefully been years of trending upwards after a very tough start. We didn't get that. I have no idea what this team is, I have no idea what GH3 wants his team to be... and that bums me out. GH3 has a lot to prove this off-season and next season. I want to see improvement. I want to see the guys playing for each other on the floor. I want to see some semblance of what this team is going to be while this guy is our coach. Eyes on the transfer portal. Go Bulls 🤘

Literally no words for Sy getting himself T'd up twice and ejected. I honestly think this is also a really bad look for GH3 not being able to keep his players' heads in the game. How as a coach do you not get that under control before it spirals? 998 career points. Ejected on senior night. Will never play competitive ball on USA soil again. That's... well... that's what this season has been.

I am watching this game solely because it will be what, 8 months until UB Ball is back in action(?) and I know I'll miss it, regardless of how this season has gone. There's a quote from the movie Garden State where Zach Braff's character talks about not feeling at home when he's home, but still being homesick for it and he says "it's like being homesick for a place that doesn't exist anymore." If I had to pick a way to summarize the way I feel about UB Ball right now it would have to be that. I yearn for the Hurley days. The Oats days. Players absolutely jacked up to win the hard hat. That was UB Ball. That was home. That is gone. Or maybe I just miss being in my 20s... the world may never know 😅 GH3 you've got a lot to prove this off-season. 40 more minutes. Go Bulls 🤘

Certainly one way to think about the game. We committed 17 turnovers and Toledo went to the charity stripe 19 more times than us and we still only lost by 6. I mean... that's not nothing. Ohio's resurgence and today's game certainly has me questioning my Akron/Toledo finals game prediction. Tournament is gonna be electric this year with how bunched together the teams are, and Akron/Kent on a collision course for a 1/8 matchup.

Agree on the Wilson discussion. A bit late in the season now but I'd have liked to see some schemes having Jo and Zaakir on the court at the same time. Jo has shown range this year that could've spread the defenses a bit more. A five man unit of Fulcher, Adams, Chatman, Williamson, Smith could be a problem for a lot of teams to properly defend, not to mention the extra size on defense.
