WNY’s All-Time High School leading scorer brings juice to the eXtreme down the back stretch of the season We are proud to announce the signing of Dom Welch, a former Buffalo News Player of the Year and WNY’s all-time leading scorer at 2,376 career high school points. Welch committed to St. Bonaventure in April 2018, where he would go on to be a standout and play in 110 games over four seasons. In his senior season, he was awarded 2022 NIT All-Tournament honors after leading his team to the semifinals. He then entered the transfer portal and was picked up by Alabama and the University of Buffalo’s former coach, Nate Oats. “Dom brings a level of talent and professionalism to our team that we are always looking for,” said Coach Rich Jacob. “He is a wonderful talent and human being and all of Buffalo should celebrate his coming home and wearing a Buffalo eXtreme jersey.
