Ohio has been up and down but played some close games against good MAC teams (had a chance to beat BG and got Turner'd).
We need to do a much better job against Preston and BVP this time around.
Same old story - defend, defend, defend, rebound.
Hurley, your bottom row is inaccurate with regard to FG% and FT%. You arrive at correct percents by dividing the total attempts into total successes. (Not by averaging the percents). For example, the total FG% for Mballa over the 7 games is 58.3% (28 made baskets divided by 48 shots attempted). Otherwise it’s a good illustration of the impact he has had coming off the bench and hopefully he’ll get more playing time (foul situation considered).
If he learns to shoot 3's he will be better then Perkins, but that is a big if. Mballa is already more dominant on the boards and on defensive. Perkins career stats for comparison:
Just get to the 8 seed. I'm sure we all remember 2016 when a young team struggled through most of conference play, won 4 of their last 5 in the regular season and won it all in Cleveland, including beating Ohio in the qf's whom no other MAC team could beat that year.
Not saying I am expecting anything quite like that to happen this season but a home game in the first round is much needed and then I'll take my chances against CMU in the quarters. I'm sure CMU would rather face a number of other teams in their first tourney game other than Coach Jack.
