Look up UB men's tennis all time record vs Canisius and Niagara. 😂 Of the 70 wins and 0 losses against Canisius, only one (that has a score listed) came down to a single point.

Solidly beat by a D2 NJCAA program, a D3 school, a D2 school, Niagara, Canisius, and of course UB. This is why I'm in favor of a bunch of decent programs rather than one program we put half the athletics budget into. When the entire school's existence comes down to a free throw or two in NYC and a NIT run (which is more prestigious than the NCAA tournament) and the team comes up short, there's nothing in between that season end and the next MBB season. One day maybe UB can dream of being invited to a conference like the Atlantic-10.

Candyce Wheeler is a rumor (if I’m officially the person starting it). Wheeler was with Burke for the press conference and appears to be in a photo that implies she was calling recruits.

Stu Riddle, men’s soccer. He was at Western Michigan previously. Looking online I couldn’t find if his contract wasn’t renewed at WMU or if he sought out a new job, but regardless it does not seem like he was explicitly fired.

Just thinking about this, I think this is only the second time that UB hired a current D1 head coach that wasn’t explicitly fired from their previous job. I might be missing somebody from Olympic sports, but nice to see that we’re moving up in that sense.

Alnutt says he hopes to be able to announce “in the near future” that UB Athletics will turf Nan Harvey Field. UB recently played a weekend series against Western Michigan at Kenmore East High School because its home field was unplayable, due to bad weather. That answers one of my questions. Looking forward to the near future.

Upon further review it appears that the woman in the middle is our new head coach and the woman on the left is assistant Candyce Wheeler.

Anybody recognize these people? They don’t look like her assistants at Upstate. Perhaps she’s hiring new assistants for the UB job?

"Finch" is well connected in women's basketball. Broke the Joni Taylor to Texas A&M move first. Reported that FLJ was offered the PSU job before anybody else did, which was later confirmed by Jonah Bronstein.

Positives: Appears to be a rising coach, wins everywhere she goes, conference coach of the year Negatives: A lot of her players (7) portaled after this year, but then again who didn't. Her staff at USC...U(?) had two Louisville connections on it so might not get impressive resumes for assistant coaches. She'll probably be gone in a year or two if she wins here based on her previous coaching record.
