  1. Things that happened before FLJ was hired at SU: Quentin Hillsman was no longer the SU WBB coach FLJ expressed interest in the position SU stuck a one year band-aid (Vonn Read) on the problem FLJ's uniform was put in the SU rafters FLJ was offered (but appears to have declined) a contract extension and/or raise at UB during the MAC tournament It's possible, but highly unlikely, that the first communication between FLJ and SU about the coaching position was after the UB season was over.
  2. Will the softball team compete at the Nan Harvey Natatorium this season or will we just rotate throughout WNY fields?
  3. Do you think there were no talks between FLJ and Syracuse until after Vonn Read was told he would not be retained?
  4. Even though they underperformed, I'd rather have Boals gone than Groce.
  5. Wonder if he is going to consider Akron
  6. Casey Valenti-Paea adds her name to the transfer portal
  7. Walk on Lucas Saleh has entered the transfer portal
  8. The only positive change to the general public (ie you don’t have something named after you on campus) in stadium experience in the last 10 years has been the addition of beer sales, and slightly better concessions. With the Bills looking at thousands of dollars for a PSL at the new stadium, fans are going to be priced out. UB is not and will never be the Bills, but for families looking to watch a football game in person for less than $500, UB can be an option. I’ll have to double check again at the spring game, but I believe we still have an 8 lane track and a video board that has a resolution comparable to VHS tapes. I remember hearing that a video board upgrade was a high priority. Getting a video board that is at least 480p (maybe even 720p if we can afford it) would be huge. Very interested in seeing what the facilities plan is whenever an updated version is released.
  9. McEvans not on that list (yet) is good to see.
  10. Nobody posted an update, but St. Bonaventure lost yesterday to Xavier. Based on the home/away schedule, it seems like we won't be playing in Olean/Allegany/St. Bonaventure/Catt County next year but maybe I'll make the trip down there to see the Final Four banner raised regardless.
  11. When reached for comment, Kent State Forward DJ Johnson said "Fuck Ali Ali"
  12. Because FCS doesn’t have a transfer portal? Or because FCS schools have different rules for basketball transfers than FBS schools?
  13. Some sacrifices have to be made for that new Schmidt contract
  14. There was a press conference on Sunday. It’s on the WGRZ Facebook page.
  15. Carly Thibault-DuDonis and Blake DuDonis (former UB assistant). Though they're both women's coaches.
  16. Fair's Twitter profile no longer says Buffalo WBB, though it does not appear that she's officially entered the portal (yet)
  17. I'm referring to Oats. Sure he was a HS coach, but high school to D1 is a huge jump.
  18. Worked well on the men's side I'd say.
  19. No Buffalo connections on there that I saw as most are P5 assistants, though one that would be interesting that is listed is ACU associate coach Erika Lambert (Jefferson County native)
  20. There’s a 0% chance that even an all MAC player could do anything but ride the bench at a prestigious A-10 school, let alone one that is going deep in the NIT, which is basically the NCAA Tournament. Maybe if you guys are looking for a DOBO or volunteer assistant…
  21. It's not surprising, Oats has Pino and Johnson down in Tuscaloosa. Now's the critical point in the program though. We've had tons of WBB alumni engagement over the past few years, time to keep it long term. Are we going to have a player that has transferred out coming to Cleveland to cheer on their former team/coach, like we did this year? Probably not. Can we keep players coming back, especially those that have stayed local? Hopefully.
  22. I'd rather not lose to our former players.
